I believe a large portion of the $1.9M is supposed to go to GCSD. Hopefully they do the right thing as well.

To 8:41AM ~~ Can you tell us why you believe that's the case? What I saw never mentioned the school district, so I'm just curious ...

I am not 100% sure but as you know the settlement stems from property assessments that were undervalued. Property assessments affect the property taxes due. Most people pay more in school taxes than Town & County taxes. So, if the settlement is the result of unpaid property taxes due to fraudulent assessments, GCSD would stand to receive 60 - 70% of the $1.9M.

To 1:41PM ~~ Since the properties were "undervalued" wouldn't it be nice to know that the Town of Greece did its job by revisiting & reappraising those after the trial? But back to reality .... thank you for the info. Time will tell. In a way I hate to see GCSD get off the hook in these tough times & get to slide on making cuts they should have started making years ago ... just like closing buildings ;)
