If what Rahn says about hiring is true, why is Auberger still free?

Because there is no proof. And because Rahn never testified in his own behalf. And the judge never let Parinello his lawyer ask any questions about that incident. There was a paper trail (proof) with the document that was falsified about the Pignato hire. Even though Auberger told Rahn to do it, he kept his own hands clean. In fact it was removed from Rahn too because he had his subordinate do the actual seeking of background and forms.
There is no way that the only transgressions on the part of this police department are the ones that surround the Nick Joseph case cover-up and the Pignato sex coercion and the falsified background checks and the shredding (all within a year). These are the only ones in which they were caught. People of that age do not just start to act in a corrupt manner that late in their lives and all at once and never before. We have so much public corruption in this town and the county that we should all be ashamed to live here. It is embarrassing. And it has been going on for years. The only difference is that for some reason they were all found out in the last 2 years. Could it still be going on since the head of the government and hiring has not changed? Could the purpose of the GPD internal affairs investigation be to get rid of those that were expendable and protect those still in power? They have all the power and can make anything look the way they want. They are in law enforcement or, if just political leaders,at least have access to all that law enforcement under them has. They have been doing it for 20 years at least. And while all this was going on some people had time to carry on an adulterous affair. That is not easy and takes lots of arrogance. Some people think they are untouchable. And from the results of the last election it seems they are right.

You might want to ask Sandra Doorley or Mike Green that question!!!!

I was thinking about Doorley too she ran on an I will prosecute any offical platform. now that green is gone and she is in charge you think she has the guts to reopen this case

To 5:48PM ~~ It's not that Rahn is innocent. It's that he had plenty of company who didn't get to share his cell ;) I doubt Doorley would decide to do anything. She seemed to have no problem prosecuting Rahn even though Green was calling a lot of shots in how things were handled.

My question is, Why is Rahn admitting to his now and what is he getting for taking the blame, the whole blame and nothing but the blame? Why is he silent about the others in the cover-up? Is he getting part pension restoration or other money to help him forget the rest of the story?

8:10 Read the transcript. He does not take the complete blame. He comes right out and says Auberger forced him to hire Pignato. Auberger knew the way to hire someone is to have a positive background check and he knew that could only happen with deceit and falsification. So he was saying the false instrument was prepared because of the orders of his superior.
The Nuremburg defense does not work in Greece.
And the 2 women that won top spots can give credit to the campaign ideas to affectionately call them by their first names on signs. Many were confused and thought they were voting for Sandra the opponent of Maggie but were really voting for Sandy Baby. Hey it worked. Although Maggie's guy did not get in.

To 10:03PM ~~ Taylor didn't get in because people know he cleaned up Maggie's scandals.

Auberger kept his hands completely clean even though he was the man who wanted Pignato hired. If you can't prove it, then why even try to convict?

Auberger said countless times, "I don't remember and I Don't recall", same thing as pleading the 5th if you ask me.

Why Rahn would admit finally; Think about it, he is familiar with Parole Hearings and knows that there is no way someone will get paroled if he/she is not sorry for what they did. Rahn gave it his best shot and they did not fall for it, simple as that.

To 6:09PM ~~ Auberger perjured himself with his 150+ utterances of "I can't remember" ... so while his hands might be "clean," he suffers from a very dirty mouth.

Maybe so but you don't go to trial or prison for a dirty mouth. Auberger is scum and there is no doubt about it.

5:48
So what is it that Doorley is going to open up again? There is nothing, it is over and the persons who went on trial are in prison.

Next year, Rahn will probably rethink what he will want to say to the parole board, I doubt you will hear him mentioning any names next time around and try to take full responsiblilty to the crimes that were committed by him.

Greece will rebuild once again and it will probably have its share of crooked politicians in the future.

To 10:48PM ~~ Rahn gets out after 2 1/4 years, doesn't he??

I have no idea when Rahn gets out of jail. The media mentions 1 2/3 - 5yrs. he was sentenced. So, I would think 5 would be the maxium for Rahn in prison. Anytime before that would be Rahn being released early on parole.

To 10:41PM ~~ I see some media sites reported what you stated. I found others that said 1 to 2 1/3 years, thus my confusion. Maybe there are typos ... ? Thanks for your input.

in ny state if you behave well in prison you only have to serve two thirds of your sentence it is called a conditional release you are automatically released on parole hence rahn asumming his behavior is good in prison would automatically be released on parole regardless of what the parole board says i fully expect both he and pignato will be held until their cr dates nj will most probaly be held beyond that because of his behavior in prison both rahns because of the short length of there sentances were eligible for work release almost as soon as they entered the system but because the state mandates that they be held in pc (ex cops) they do not qualify in addition because alchohal played a part in there prior crimes all must complete a asat type program before release

To 11:32PM ~~ Thank you for refreshing my memory on this.
