FEPC Panel Dismisses Conlon's Complaint

November 1, 2011 ~~ For Immediate Release

Fair Election Practices Committee upholds statement by Democrat Rita Garretson

The truth hurts.

Greece Town Board candidate Rita Garretson pointed out in campaign mailings that her opponent, incumbent Andrew Conlon, has never spoken out against John Auberger’s misconduct.

In a futile attempt to quiet Rita Garretson’s criticism, Conlon and the Republican Party filed a frivolous and unfounded Fair Election Practices complaint against her. It didn’t work.

The FEPC panel, comprised of two Republicans and two Democrats, dismissed Conlon’s complaint. They agreed that Rita Garretson’s statement was accurate. They confirmed that Andrew Conlon never spoke out publicly against John Auberger’s misconduct. Conlon has an unbroken string of 941 Town Board votes in agreement with Auberger, and never once voted against the Republican majority since the beginning of his term in 2010.

The committee sustained Conlon's complaint on a secondary issue. He maintains that his full-time job in the office of Senator Joe Robach does not rely on Republican Party bosses.

“This is a good day for the truth, and a bad day for the Republican Party,” said Rita Garretson. “Hopefully, their days of one-party iron rule in Greece will end next Tuesday on Election Day.”

Rita Garretson, Wendy Wright, and Norma Cummings are running for Greece Town Board on the Democratic line. Currently, there are only Republicans on the Town Board. Between January 2010 and September 2011, the all-Republican board voted unanimously with John Auberger 941 times. None of them voted against Auberger, not even once.

To 4:55AM ~~ If that was in response to my question, then you either misunderstood or you are totally wrong. It has been MANY, MANY YEARS, since anyone voted "NO" at a Greece Town Board meeting with Auberger at the helm. Maybe it's never happened in his dozen plus reign of terror?

WARNING

There are a few of you (like possibly two and I'm pretty certain I know who you both are) who need to grow up and learn to act like the adults you are supposed to be. Your sniveling remarks, back-handed compliments and editorializing about things you know won't see the light of day is amusing. However, there's not a chance in H-E-double-hockey-sticks that your nasty comments will ever get posted.

Just for the record, the entire claim was NOT dismissed. And the Garretson's did NOT win with regard to the entire complaint. Get your facts correct instead of listening to everyword that Dave Garretson says.

Rita deserves a chance to show what she can do. She has stood up to Auberger

Andy, it's past your bedtime -- stop writing nasty notes to scats and go to sleep!

To 11:20AM ~~ You must be another proud Greece Central grad who never learned to read for comprehension. What I posted was a PRESS RELEASE. That means it was not my writing, not my work, but something created by another to announce something.

So, I'll keep my "correct" facts (what the heck are incorrect facts anyway??) just as I posted while you find a face-saving apology to post ;)

Less than a week to go and SuperDave is really helping his wife and the girls make some noise this campaign.

My cat purrs louder than Greece Democrat candidates.

Well I am a Republican and I also live in Greece and plan on voting this Tuesday. I think I have heard enough over the past few years about my Party and I will be voting for many Democrats this coming Tuesday.
