Friendly pro-Republican crowd at an event where the audience does not ask questions of the candidates. Let me consult my magic 8 ball. Will Republican candidates attend the First Bible church event? All signs point to YES!

read the greece post bios/questions/ans....some of the answers are almost word for word the same, who answered the questionnaire ....I Am Him or the Little Red Haired Girl?

SCATS said...

To 10:35AM ~~ Your 8 ball is very wise!

To 11AM ~~ That's why they're called "canned-i-dates!" :D

No info on Wendy Wright? Why is that? IS NGN complaining about that?

SCATS said...

To 3:18PM ~~ Why would they??

I had a good chuckle reading today's print version of the Greece Post. Reilich admits his 11th hour notification to NGN that he told the Republicans to stay away. He claims they were treated poorly in the past, which I find to be hysterical! The real issue was that Auberger was up to his eyeballs in corruption, scandals and a crumbling PD when he ran 2 yrs ago. The crowd asked some really hard questions ;)

Anonymous said...

Boo Hoo poor Republicans they need Mommy Maggie and Daddy Reilich to keep the bullies away, those bullying democrats and terrible citizens I shake just thinking about it. Why don;t they leave the poor Republican alone. They are just victims. Even the republican presidential candidates ask each other hard questions!!!

Anonymous said...

Bill Reilich is no better than Joe Morelle. And Joe Morelle is no better than Bill Reilich.

It's time for a completely new political party in the Town of Greece and I don't mean those Independent people who can't make up their minds or take a real stand on anything that really matters. They are as fickle as a cat.

SCATS said...

To 6:26PM ~~ HEY!!! Don't go around insulting cats!!

I will vote for Andrew Conlon even though I am a registered Democrat. I do not believe that the woman running against him can represent the needs of the young professionals, or young families of Greece. She may be a hit with the seniors, but my concern is that what seniors see as needs are typically not on par with the younger generations.

SCATS said...

To 8:46PM ~~ So what you are saying is that you support a spineless young guy who does whatever Auberger tells him to do ... which means he votes in favor of EVERY ITEM that has ever come before him at a Town Board meeting AND he has done so with virtually NO PUBLIC DISCUSSION of any of it ;) Supporting the Republican machine/regime is just fine as long as you enjoy the dictator-like control Auberger imposes. I just want you to be honest enough to see it & call it what it is, instead of demeaning the other side with your backhanded compliments.

Anonymous said...

I have met Andrew, I have told him I dislike what is going on with the supervisor. I do think that there are some on the board that do agree with the public opinion. I do also believe that the think they can be of service to the town, and John A will be gone after this term. So yes I will vote fro him and will be happy to do so. I vote the person not the party...

SCATS said...

To 7:24AM ~~ I've met him too. I vote my mind, never the party. In this case, Conlon talked the talk during his first campaign, but he has totally failed to walk the walk during his 2 yr. term. Words alone won't get my vote again. Go ahead & be a sucker by giving him a second term he doesn't deserve ;) That's how Auggie got here a dozen+ years later!

Anonymous said...

isn't Conlon a birther. That was at least wha I heard. That is one of those folks who believed that Obama was not a real American, What are his views I don't get any sense of what he believes or thinks from the boilerplate statement at Greece post. Is he a conservative republican a moderate one or an old style liberal republican?. How do these views if he has any impact on his vision for the town. what does he think about development what does he think about the scandals in the town and in the county what does he think about free speech at the board, many others. Why won;t he speak his views at the town board meetings Who is Conlon what does he think, I would like to hear more in his own voice

Anonymous said...

To 10:17 AM: What hasn't Andy done? He was on the Board that voted to hire Baxter, who has cleaned up the GPD (one of Conlon's promises). He has helped relocate Precinct 2 to a building that is town-owned, he has increased the hours of the Barnard Crossing Library, and most importantly, he hasn't raised our tax rate in 2 years. Just because he didn't speak out against Auggie's affair, he's going against his past campaign promises?

Anonymous said...

Nice to say you vote for the person not the party, but when the person you vote for tows the party line 100% of the time, never says a peep in public about Auberger, won't show up to answer questions if Democrats might be in the room... well, I guess if you vote for that person, you are voting for a party.

These Republicans are all obedient to Auberger and Reilich because they are afraid to be fired from their Republican day jobs.

I don't care how old Conlon is, or if he secretly agrees me. If he doesn't have the spine to stand up and say so in public, he is merely part of the machine. Same for the others.

If a Democrat votes independently on Town Board even once, it will be more times than any of the Republicans.

Conlon you may be a nice looking kid but you didn't earn my vote. Better luck next time.

SCATS said...

To 10:43AM ~~ Conlon had just gotten sworn into office a few weeks before Baxter was sworn in as Chief! He had absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH CLEANING UP GPD ... aside from being a yes-man in voting for Baxter ... and anything else that Auggie wanted done over the last 2 years!

Conlon had absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH EXTENDING LIBRARY HOURS! ... other than voting for it along with his brethren. He does NOT control the purse strings (i.e.budget) for such things, just as Todd Baxter can't really "hire" anyone. The reason: AUBERGER & THE TOWN BOARD MUST APPROVE ALL SPENDING! Have you seen them vote against anything, ever??

Your suggestion that he "helped relocate" Precinct 2 is most amusing since the Phelan family has been bestowed complete credit for that, in public!

Let's face it, Conlon was an hourly paid gopher at Town Hall that Auggie took upstairs to prime before running him for Ward 3 during the Greece Police Dept. scandal. He was fresh meat in a year when Auberger was politically desperate for anything to save his sinking ship.

I suggest you look back at how outspoken he is on all of the videos SCATS posted during the last 2 years. Except to yawn or vote "yes" he has yet to open his mouth ;)

Rita too tows the democrat line. She's not offered one single item to cut taxes, imrpove public safety or create jobs.

Auberger's going anyway. After that issue, we actually need someone who has the ability to give Greece residents what they need - jobs, lower taxes and a greater police presence.

Andy's delivered these. As far as I've seen, Rita isn't even offering suggestions.

Andy Conlon all the way.

Thank you for letting me share my opinions.

It was the Board who hired Baxter.

It was the Board who interviewed Baxter.

Anonymous said...

Oh I forgot SCATS thought Steve White from NYS Police was the lead candidate.

As usual, wrong again.

Anonymous said...

Conlon may not be good, but I have no intention for voting for Rita and I'm a registered Democrat.

I worked with her many years ago. She came in as an upper management hire and did nothing to help the company succeed. To be honest, all she seemed to do was walk around and get seen but didn't actually *do* anything productive while she was there. I understand the concept of management by walking around, but she seemed to miss the management part.

And in more recent contact with her, she came to my house at 8:30pm to get me to sign her petition to run. From the various children's toys outside my home and visible to anyone on my property it is obvious that young children live here. Yet when I answered the door along with my kids in their pajamas (because she just kept on knocking when I tried to ignore her because my kids were on their way to bed at that hour) and informed her it was a little late for her to be canvassing a family neighborhood, she responded with "Yeah, I got a late start today." I had expected something along the lines of an apology or at least her admission that she didn't realize how late it was. Totally turned me off to her as a candidate with that attitude.

Anonymous said...

SCATS, how do you know he didn't have anything to do with extending library hours or cleaning up GPD? If that's the case, could you please provide me with the name of whose idea it was to extend library hours and propose that such a policy be enacted.

Anonymous said...

So SCATS, tell us then. What if anything at all have Rita Garretson EVER done in Greece, for Greece, or for its residents.

Like a typical party-liner, you continually attack Conlon, but offer nothing to show why Rita would be better.

There are 2 items I am finding very disturbing.
Yesterdays Greece Post published a figure of over 900 votes taken at the town board meetings that were unanimous - THAT should concern us all. It doesn't matter what party - THAT makes no sence. Somebody, somewhere should have a problem with something within over 900 items. Reality says government at 'any' level is incapable of this kind of track record and get it right.

With little to no discussion taking place at open meetings on items to be voted on including employee contracts tells me a goal of the town board is to 'follow' the school board lead even if policy is not followed - THIS along with no public dicussion tells us discussion toke place somewhere else - THATS WRONG.

Is there any better example than a communications 'contract' at the county level recently identified by the Comptroller approved by a 'unanimous' vote - no discussion - passed off to some #**# committee and look at the mess. Some are now saying they did not know what they voted on? WHAT?

I am told the town budget will NOT be produced until 'after' the Nov. vote - THATS WRONG.

You say John Auberger will be gone after this term? You don't mention that his term runs for 2 more years! If that means 2 more years of Conlon and the crew supposedly secretly agreeing with us while being too timid to act, no thank you.

Let's elect some council members with the b*lls to stand up to the machine. I know the Dem candidates are women, but from what I see they have more in that dept than the Republican men who currently sit in those chairs!

Anonymous said...

Well my motto for this election is out with the old and in with the new! Has nothing to do with what Party, has only to do with my own experiences with attending the Town Board Meetings.

SCATS said...

To 2:05PM ~~ How could Conlon "clean-up" GPD in the time that lapsed from when he was sworn-in to the Town Board on January 1, 2010 (or shortly thereafter) to the time Baxter became Chief on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Noon in the Greece Community and Senior Center? That's a full 39 days, best case scenario! By then, Loszynski already had done his magic, Ball, Rahn, Mackin, Joseph, Pignato and company were already out of GPD.

TO ALL ~~ I will NOT post a number of the nasty, name-calling, bullying, demeaning or otherwise totally inappropriate and/or off topic comments received! Really, you folks should know better.

SCATS said...

To 1:58PM ~~ LMAO!!! I've never heard of someone closing up their home to the outside world at 8:30PM because it's bedtime for the chickadees. In our home, we teach that bedtime is different depending upon each person's age & needs, PERIOD.

If you want to live in your Mayberry world, you best relocate to a smaller, more rural community where the hardware store closes at 6PM and the diner closes up by 8.

SCATS said...

To 2:17PM ~~ I'm sure she's done at least as much as Conlon did BEFORE he was elected ;)

Anonymous said...

to 12:49 maybe you're not getting the same mail that I am. I've seen plenty from Rita about her plans. One about taxes, another about neighborhood redevelopment, another about something else. From Conlon I heard that he volunteered for the Pirate Toy Fund and supposedly he cut my taxes. My taxes have never gone any direction except up up up, so good luck selling that idea.

Anonymous said...

1:58, Rita came to my door too. My experience was totally different. Clearly she is smart, and from what I saw on the video today, I think she is tough enough to stand up to Auberger. Meanwhile Conlon hasn't been here and I have no idea what he even looks like. It is true that I am a Democrat maybe he is scared of Democrats one on one too.

Anonymous said...

1:58 Boo Hoo. They run around for their signatures usually after dinner because that's when most of the people are home. Even though some people aren't working or work nights, majority are working days.

And the petition season is in the deep summer. It is light until 10 pm and the kids do not have to go to school the next day. Again we are talking about averages. Sure your kids were taking a special enrichment class at U of R.
And why don't you pick up your toys that are strewn all over your yard? Just trying to picture you in your feet pajamas. Who that is an adult under the age of 80 even "dresses for bed" anymore. You've got to be kidding. If I lived in your district I would vote for her just because you won't. You must be fun to live next door to.
And BTW bravo to her for defusing your argument that she is too late to be in a "family" neighborhood. Please tell us where the "non-family" neighborhoods of greece are. How fortunate you are to reside in one of the "family" neighborhoods. Good for her that she responded to your opinion in that way. There was no way to win an argument on that fine summer night with you.

It's become painfully obvious that there's one, possibly two people who are intent upon slamming a specific person/family/party just to get their digs in and usually without building any sort of case for what they contend. Sorry but it's not going to be tolerated here. Take it to some other BLOG.

Anonymous said...

Well I live in Greece and have not seen anyone from either party on our street. If it wasn't for this blog, I would not even know there was going to be an election in Greece, (outside of reading in paper also).

Good news is that I have attended many of the Town Board Meetings and not to please to see the people that I voted for in the past sitting there doing nothing but yawning and made a decision that I will be voting against my party this time.

Anonymous said...

Really you didn't know there was going to be an election? It's not like they happen every November...oh wait they do.

Really? Are you that absorb to only read the words of 5:22pm and not know he/she was throwing a shot out at all the candidates for not seeing much or hearing from anyone coming on the street that he/she lives on.
You need to read all the threads to understand the point that some are trying to get across when they post theirs.

SCATS said...

To 3:22PM ~~ I'd say you are the one who is trying to throw a potshot towards all of the candidates, not 1:17AM ;)
