Another meeting without any discussion about downsizing the schools? I thought this super meant business? Just more talk, no action.

There's an outline of the meetings taking place about school consolidation on the website.

To 5:17PM ~~ Just to be more specific, the outline you mentioned is for various committee meetings going well into December. They do not involve any sort of action by the BOE, DO or Supt. ;)

Over 100 days on the job and nothing to show for it.

Well the connect ed calls have started. Apollo sent one out informing parents that the pta and sue mier are holding a planning session on thursday and want parents to give input as to the possible plans for school closure.how is it that apollo had joined forces with OA. Something stinks sue m could give to sh$& s about apollo and the kids left there.

I heard an OA parent tell another (at a dr. office) that they were all told that there is a two year plan to move OA into Apollo ... usual racist and classist overtones also in the conversation... if I was black they would not have said the things they were saying...

IB is an expensive program to maintian and should be finished... there is no independent evidence that IB kids do any better in college than AP kids... it is an expensive sham that benefits a few at great expence to the district.

Another plan in the works is to shut down the Westridge building. But because the parents caused such a scene last time, they aren't going to say they are closing Westridge but instead are relocating it to Parkland. All of the Parkland staff and kids will be moved to Brookside. The loudest and richest parents prevail in this district.

@8:06 - So, it is the case then that for you, closing Westridge isn't about saving money by shuttering an old building, but instead is about punishing children whose parents signed them up for a SOC?

To 11:29PM ~~ Where is your concern for the folks who have spent years sitting on waiting lists? Out of everyone, they've been "punished" most ;)

It's time to end the DYSFUNCTIONAL tiered system of education in Greece and ensure that ALL GREECE STUDENTS GET THE SAME CURRICULUM, TIME IN CLASS, TIME IN SCHOOL, ACCESS TO EXTRA HELP, ETC.

It is not about punishing anyone...The kids already having difficulty in school (the kids at Parkland) are possibly going to be forced to change schools. Yes affluent white kids who do well in school can "afford" the disruption more than poor black kids. I do not understand the thinking of so many on this topic.

I hope the BOE strongly considers their options and makes what is best for all kids here not just the ones with loud, squeeky parents.

There should be minimal public input on this one!

To 5:49AM ~~ If the idea of moving WR to Parkland and Parkland to Brookside is true, then it appears our new Super is almost as spineless as her predecessors were. Why do I say this? Because playing musical chairs with the kiddies in such a fashion as this will not maximize the potential savings of closing schools!!!
