REMINDER ...

PUBLIC HEARING on CODE of CONDUCT

BOE STUDY SESSION on SCHOOLS of CHOICE

Tonight at 6:30PM

SCATS ~~ From the presentation that will be made about the Code of Conduct tonight, page 12 lists "Consistent Approach" to implementing this policy. Since when did the Greece Central School District ever do anything related to student expectations with consistency? We have 20 schools headed by 20 different "kings" who reign over their group of parents and students ... i.e. their kingdom. They have never in the past and will never in the future apply a 30 page policy with any sort of consistency!

Remember that a camel is just a horse designed by committee. Does this committee agree on one hump or two? Or is that yet TBD?

The loop hole in the Code of Conduct that allows for discipline to be NOT consistent based on "students needs" is a HUGE problem.

A child ( 3-5) that has overt sexual language and inappropriate touching issues is not subject to harsh consequences because of the emotional needs of said student. While those that have been touched or spoken to in a gross manner and hurt from such actions have no recourse other that to sit in class with this student. The children with the "behavior issues" are still the ones protected.

To 10:01AM ~~ In GCSD, the committee can't even agree that it's spelled "C-A-M-E-L" instead of "C-A-M-L-E!"

To 10:11AM ~~ I'm sure there's more than one loophole too.

Code of Conduct, Section 17.c(1): The ability of the BOE to terminate a coach caught drinking on the job is inversely proportional to the success of the team.

To 2:14PM ~~ I understand what you meant, but in reality, the BOE WANTED TO RESCUE THE COACHES ... from the "discipline" (firing) done by the Superintendent. Achramovitch did his job & the BOE neutered him for it. So you need to revise the wording ... perhaps to: "Code of Conduct, Section 17.c(1): The ability of the Supt. to terminate a coach caught drinking on the job is inversely proportional to the success of the team and the will of the BOE."

Great idea. Let’s criticize them when they are inconsistent and then again when they try to become more consistent.

You guys are fun to watch. It’s a different face palm every day.

To 4:05PM ~~ Including the word "consistent" in a 30 pg. rewrite of a policy is meaningless in Greece. They do NOT, have NOT, will NOT say what they mean, or mean what they say. They are 100% DYSFUNCTIONAL. They have NO TRACK RECORD of expected common sense behaviors for us to put our trust behind.

4:05 "face palm"? what is that?

Listening to this BOE "Study Session"
is like listening to paint dry!

To 8:03PM ~~ It's actually one word: "facepalm". It means: "To bring the palm of one’s hand to one’s face as an expression of mixed humor and disbelief or disgust or shame, for example, when one is caught off-guard with a particularly bad pun; To bring one’s face down to one’s cupped hand or hands." We live in Greece where a new week means a different scandal. I heard 4:05PM is now suffering a repetitive motion disorder related to the frequency with which they facepalm when reading about Greece ;)

To 8:10PM ~~ It was much more painful than that. I'm amazed, astounded actually, that such a large group of highly paid people (DO staffers, etc. with most possessing an advanced degree) could work cooperatively to construct dozens upon dozens of hurdles, roadblocks & other obstacles in an orchestrated & concerted effort to PREVENT CHANGE in Greece schools! Here's a quote from Waiting For Superman that seems to fit the school choice situation in Greece perfectly: "Kids look at the world and realize they've been given the short end of the stick, and they don't know why."

Tell you what, the wife and I read that thing 3 times, and can't either of us find any sense in there.

Now there's a little girl one block over who seems to have some kind of itching problem, sort of like she has poison ivy of the crotch, cause she's always out doing sort of a pole dance. Wife says she figures the girl got it from her mother, the behavior not the itch, but I don't know so I don't say. You gotta figure that girl does the same in school as she does in the neighborhood, but there ain't diddle in that there code about such.

I'm just glad my kids will ride a different bus cause I sure don't want them seeing that.

Them school people went a whole lot of pages saying damn little in my book. We're already getting up a family pot to hire a lawyer if one of ours gets in trouble.

Why are none of you know-it-alls on the school board?

Why are you all anonymous?

To 4:48AM ~~ We've elected a few. One is named Frank Oberg. He drank way too much Kool-Aid just before he became BOE Prez ;)

The anonymity question was dealt with 5 yrs. ago. Get over it. BTW, I don't see YOUR signature ;)
