Did Greece Run A Fair & Proper Election

Dear SCATS,

Did you notice the differences in how you vote for the candidates in a local town race...vs. the school board budget?

1. School Board runs their own election - they just lease the machines from the Board of Elections to use

2. The ballot you used to vote in the town govt election had numbers on the spine of the paper ballots (so you could tell how many people voted by the sign-in and compare against how many ballots you gave out to the public) based on the number that stays behind on the ballot book.

3. The ballots used for the Greece budget vote had NO NUMBERS. How can they account for the number of ballots that actually got stuffed in the tally, vs. how many people actually voted?

4. Ask if any of the people who were charged with the polling site operations ("poll workers") ever received training on the machines...

5. How did the tapes and cartridges compare against the book and the ballots INSIDE of the machine? Did they match? My money says they did not.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. Their use of the new machines (and I believe they were the ONLY ones NOT to use the lever machines) helped them to get their "win"...

SCATS READER

P.S. - FYI, the State Education Dept. sets all rules on the school board elections - not the Board of Elections. I can't believe the schools are allowed to conduct this vote with NO oversight whatsoever, not even using a method by which the number of voters can be checked against the number of signatures, against the number of ballots, against the machine totals, and then again against the number in the actual machine. Talk about the fox not only guarding the hen house, but holding a chicken barbecue on the same night!

I don't know what school you voted at but at Pine Brook the ballots had numbers on them and on the stub there ripped them off of.

I beg to differ with these remarks. I worked the vote, we were all trained monroe county election inspectors. We had to have county training and then on Monday before the vote we all had to have an over view of the machines again and Greece procedure training. Every ballot at my location was numbered and accounted for. The data card in the machines stayed sealed in the machine and went back to the county not to the school district. Sorry you're not happy that the budget passed but don't try to make it look like the process was at fault.

Does Greece ever run a fair or proper election? Hmmm, "No". Look at the people in power right now, how could it be fair or better yet, a proper election!

I see the Democrats finally announced who they will have running for various elected positions in November. Maybe some of our problems of corrupted politicians will finally fall upon the Republicans in office. I know I am a Republican and plan on voting for more Democrats than I ever have before. Just tired of people like Brooks, Auberger, ect.. running Greece into the ground.

The election inspectors were trained by the Monroe county Board of elections. At my polling place the people were very helpful. They marked my name on a list as I signed the book.
Only question is why was the proposition on one side and the candidates on the other? I don't remember turning the paper over last November.

Just because things went well at one location doesn't mean things went by the book elsewhere. As usual, my location lacked the exit poll. I'm aware my polling place wasn't alone in that regard. I've seen electioneering and other abuses at Greece school board elections. I think the fact they use volunteers gives it the same slipshod flavor the boe exudes.

Well there you go, Greece murdered trees to make paper ballots while the brilliant Hilton Central District where nobody ran because nobody cares any more just used the lever machines. At least Hilton saved a few bucks wiith their so called election.

Let's see. The "old" system uses levers and electronic counters. The new, improved system uses paper and ink. What is next? I know, we all get a piece of granite and a chisel! Such a marked improvement!

Breaking news! One of Greece's very own board members, Dave Ferington was spotted leaving the GTA office shortly after 2 PM today. Perhaps some sort of deal was struck? Hang on to your wallets.

To 4:54PM ~~ Leave it to GTA! I guess they haven't heard that the world is ending tomorrow ;)

I find it interesting one of the board members is visiting the union. Wonder who else will be dropping by, that is if the world doesn't end Saturday. Or perhaps the others are not aware of Mr. Ferington's activities. You can be sure of one thing, whatever is going on, it will cost us.

Ya hnow what else happened today?

2 Ghyno ADAs went in the shop for makeovers and new lipstick shades, and 2 supposedly male ADAs practiced their ass kissing technique because
Mike Green was in DC in front of the Senate sucking up to be confirmed as a Title III Federal Judge in the Western District of NY.

Whoopie Duck, Democrat HQ is salivating, they get to pick and install a new DA. Once again the public gets screwed. Only question which bench will Mikey sit on and issue horrible decisions from.

Nobody's supposed to ask where the $100,000+ donation to Shumer came from to push Mikey.
