AUBERGER OUT, HELFER IN?

CONFIDENTIAL SOURCES CLOSE TO SCATS TELL US THAT AUBERGER WILL SOON BE OUT OF HIS POSITION AS GREECE TOWN SUPERVISOR! HIS REPLACEMENT IS RUMORED TO BE JERRY HELFER.

Apparently, the heat is getting too hot for County Executive Maggie Brooks (Rep.),  who is up for re-election this fall.

SCATS ~~ If accurate ... Mieux vaut tard que j'amais, Maggie ;)

Well if true, then opinions do count for something; better late than never.

If Maggie could of called the shots from the get go and decided to do so now due to her election bid; Then I say, Good Luck with that Maggie!

Maggie doesn't call the shots at Repub HQ.

Maggie has history with the hairburger and is at least 2 studmuffins past Hairburger by my count. I doubt if Maggie would be very upset if the Hairburger was found hanging in his shower some morning.

H I S T O R Y- you gotta have the scorecard and the history book folks.

Hairburger wouldn't doorknock for OFlibber unless he got paid like Maggie did. He didn't and he pissed off some people with long memories. They may send him to the showers now, especially if it hurts his pension. At best he's Tier 4, and may take a big hit if he doesn't have 15 years in. How Bernie did for him in the divorce may hurt even more if he goes to the shower now.

Remember Hairburger wanted to go to the Water Authority, and he didn't get to go. He is on the fecal roster downtown, and probably has damn few favors left to call in.

Chances are pretty good the Town Board calling for the investigation was a memo sent from downtown as well. Heavy weight downtown has been waiting to punish the Hairburger for not being a good Republican and they just might have decided his latest escapade was the time to do him in.

This deal is an iceberg. Most of what happens will never be seen by the public.

If the Hairburger goes look for his next job to be cashier at Walmart, just like a Gates Town Councilman who got busted for shoplifting baseball cards. When they get slammed they stay slammed.

Right. Maggie doesn't call the shots at Republican HQ, but Maggie fired Steve Minarik.

Get real.

Wouldn't the post have to be filled by Jeff McCann - the Deputy supervisor?

1:23 Has "what is supposed to happen" ever mattered in the Town of Greece?

Given the fiasco appointing a Lt Governor when Patterson moved up, NY Law may be silent on who succeeds Hairburger.

I can't find anything on the subject, although there may be caselaw on the matter.

In absence of law the norm would be to look to history and follow that.

In Greece there may be 2 prior examples, first being when Tofany replaced Howe and second when Badgerow replaced Tofany. Best I recall Tofany and Badgerow were both appointed to fill terms.

Badgerow made the move from Town Clerk to Supervisor.

Boily replaced Riley for the last part of his term. He was chosen by the town board. He was a board member. Then he ran that November for which Riley would have had to run then. Riley decided to retire from the position and that gave Boily the advantage of being the incumbent. He was a teacher that went on long term leave with status preserved with the school district but in the end he retired.
Any of the town board members could fill the position until the November elections. For that matter any resident qualified in Greece could be chosen. It does not have to be the deputy supervisor. But the chosen person would only have the position until the voters decided in November for a person to fill out the rest of his term through 2013.

Might as well let Auberger stay, Helfer is more of the same.

To 9:50PM ~~ Bite your tongue! (Even though I know your point is correct.)

Well I guess it feels good going in, we are just going to let it happen? Nobody should complain from hear on out, I have yet to see the failed Democrats take any kind of stand or demand real answers or investigation on the whole board.

To 8:54AM ~~ If you haven't seen the Democrats saying it, then you haven't paid very close attention. I admit it took them too long to say something about Auberger once the affiar came out, but they did DEMAND the Town Board step up and be accountable to the community for Auberger's messes. Are the Republican 4 on the Town Board listening? NO! They are ignoring everything.

Anonymous said...

They sure are ignoring everything but they will take notice when future elections come up. Wouldn't be surprised if many of the Republicans get hurled off their pedestals.

BLOG Administration rejected posting that's a typical Morons Ranting type political posting aimed at slamming someone's family, etc. It's not happening here, boys. Take it to your own BLOG ;)

They won't be hurled off their pedestals by democrats 6;20.

The democrats have been exposed with their heads in a very dark place marked union.

To 6:56AM ~~ You're right. The Republicans aren't on pedestals. They stepped down to put their heads up each other's arse while Auberger wasted $1,000,000 conducting an investigation to exhonerate himself when everyone knew he wasn't telling the truth on the stand. Or can't you recall anything either? ;)

To me, saying you can't recall or don't remember is the same thing as lying if you really do recall.

SCATS said...

To 1:27PM ~~ BINGO ;)

Auberger has many credentials but he has a real hard time to recall anything that he ever was involved in. I think he may have to many credentials and we need someone who only has honesty to his credit.
