Assessment did not go up but as usual the spending did. I want to know what is "Other Social Services Mandates" on my tax bill that I am getting charged $306.00 for? AND "Public Saftey Mandates" I am getting charged $406.00??? Let's not forget my Fire District tax at $550.00. Almost HALF of my tax bill goes to these three services. This is NUTS........time to consolidate the little fireman palaces.

To 7:02AM ~~ I do not know. I've heard of no exceptions, but then I've also heard of few specifics. I guess we'll have to ask Andy ;)

I recently had a conversation with a veteran fireman about costs, pensions, etc. He told me that the state controls the number of fire districts and the state could direct the town supervisor to reduce the number of districts. Granted we have a large town and safety is a big issue, but some consolidation could save money.
