Resident Suing Town Of Greece For Flooding Issue

More of the Same: Closed, Clubby & Corrupt

WHEC-TV reports: Four floods in 14 yrs. cost Greece homeowner tens of thousands of dollars in damage to her house, her furniture, carpet and appliances. They offered her $12,000 for an out-of-court settlement, but failed to offer her any permanent solution for a faulty retention pond situated on Town-owned property next door. Greece officials say it is "a nuisance lawsuit."

SCATS ~~ You gotta love Supervisor Alzheimer's methods for handling trouble! When an angry resident calls with a problem, fail to respond. Don't return the call. Or take the call, but never follow-up. If that doesn't work, threaten them or divert the focus to another topic. Find SOMETHING, ANYTHING that person may have ever done wrong and use it against them. When the resident shows they are persistent and serious and they hire a lawyer, downplay the issue and label it insignificant, a nuisance or annoyance. After losing the case in court and paying out the wazoo, reassess properties, raise taxes, swallow and repeat the entire process, over and over and over again. Oh, and this is only relevant to things Supervisor Alzheimer can actually recall ;)

Greece Town, Greece Police, Greece Schools, it doesn't matter. The Mantra is "There is nothing wrong here. It is just a disgruntled person."

Respectfully,
"I don't know ... I can't recall ... I don't remember ..."

“And I would expect the town to do right and fix it. Just be ethical and fix the problem. I think that's what they would want if they lived in here. Nothing more, nothing less."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

OMG that seriously is the funniest thing I've heard from a Greece resident!

I'm so very sorry for the problems that Ms Mattioli has been through, but to think that the town will hold itself accountable for this is beyond funny. Unfortunately, the town will most likely settle and nothing will be fixed even-though the settlement plus cost of lawyers would most likely cost more than what a permanent 'fix' would have cost and the issue will be swept under the rug. Much like everything else that is wrong in Greece.

To 7:02AM ~~ Well, that quote is true in locations outside the great Town of Greece in the wonderful County of Monroe ;)

I expect many of you will be puting your houses up for sale given your opinion of the town.

To 10:41AM ~~ You wish!! Doing that is the cowardly solution, it accomplishes nothing for the pain people have been sujected to over the years. Eliminating the status quo not only resolves the problems, but leaves one with a true sense of satisfaction ;)

To 12:36AM ~~ Or maybe our "leaders" could learn something about making a community functional by looking at other towns and their success ;)

That's the problem with Kingdoms like Aubergerville. When one repeatedly points out that the "Emperor" John and his crooked bunch of cronies are not wearing clothes (ugh...pardon me for the mental picture and resultant illness...) then the "subjects" are ostracized immediately out of the territories of the Kingdom and banished to other places, like Pittsford, where in reality, the Emperor wishes he was.

Oh the dreams of knights and nobles. Royals suck.
