Stockings for Soldiers

WHEC.com reports that Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home in Greece will be sending a little taste of home to our soldiers overseas. They are participating in the annual Veterans & Family Memorial Care (VFMC) “Christmas Stockings for Soldiers” initiative.

From now until December 1st, the community can stop by the funeral home located on Vintage Lane to pick-up a free Christmas stocking. They will also receive a list of recommended items to stuff the stocking with. Filled stockings need to be returned to the funeral home by December 1, in order to be shipped to troops overseas in time for Christmas.

SCATS ~~ I fully support this idea!

Given the timeframe available to shipping it would be a good idea for somebody to post the list of desired items to expedite the operation.

To 7:20AM ~~ I didn't miss it. I ignored it. Just because Auberger finangled a way to make the tax rate decline by one penny per thousand dollars doesn't mean that the half of Greece that wasn't reassessed last year won't be getting letters with the sticker shocking news about their taxes rising significantly shortly after 2011 begins. Baxter's new boys 'n toys are costing a pretty penny and must be funded somehow.
