Some Monroe County Towns Opt Out Of Health Insurance Consortium

Rochester Business Journal article explains which towns remain in the consortium and why several opted out.

"Ten of the 13 original consortium members remain in the group, which would survive for at least the three-year life of the consortium contract, the group’s chief organizer, Pittsford town supervisor William Carpenter, said.

Brighton, Irondequoit and Gates have voted to ink three-year contracts running through 2013 with Excellus, town officials said. Greece is mulling a similar bid, Deputy Supervisor Jeffery McCann said."

SCATS ~~ So then, Greece is not particpating at all? How much are we wasting by not opting into some plan with other towns?
