Good question. Very historic.

To 7:18PM ~~ According to Wikipedia, the early origins of the seal are obscure, but the current design evolved over time.

"The use of presidential seals goes back to at least 1850, and probably much earlier. The basic design of today's seal originated with Rutherford B. Hayes, who was the first to use the coat of arms on White House invitations in 1877. The precise design dates from 1945, when President Truman specified it in Executive Order 9646. The only changes since were in 1959 and 1960, which added 49th and 50th stars to the circle following the admissions of Alaska and Hawaii as states."

Customer: How could this happen? I've been publicly humiliated by someone's incompetence.

Engineering Firm: The builder didn't follow my instructions.

Builder: Customers change their minds all the time. We did what the customer wanted and they signed off on it.

Customer: Shouldn't what I want be done with quality in mind?

Builder: Engineering drawings often contain errors that I had to deal with as best as I could within the budget I am given.

Engineering Firm: Errors?! I documented what the customer said they wanted. They signed off on it.

Builder & Engineering Firm: The final checkpoint for any project is the customer's Clerk of the Works, Project Manager and Finance leadership. What do they have to say for themselves?

Play audio of crickets chirping and re-read the first section.

What I thought was hysterical is that he had no idea what to do when he got out of sync with the teleprompters. He was just treading water until the tech support got the rewind done. Priceless!
