SOme young troubled girl has ruined this mans life. And so many were will to convict based on his looks, and age.

Wasn't it good that he was listed among the retirees in the brochure instead of assuming he was guilty and leaving him out?

To 10:09AM ~~ Not in my opinion. We shouldn't be "honoring" anyone accused of committing a felony with a minor unless/until their name is cleared. It sends the wrong message and is distasteful.

FYI, in fact, I think it was wasteful for the district to send out that entire mailing in these times of such "tight budgeting." Oh wait, that's just the excuse they use for not tackling the really difficult issues like school options!

So you favor guilt before trial and omitting him so not to offend?

I agree the mailing is a waste of money but if they do it he should be included. He retired ( almost a forced retirement given the situation) after many years of service and some little girl will probably have no consequences for the lies.

To 11:04AM ~~ I favor a logical use of caution over looking foolish/insensitive :) A name can always be printed later. Honoring a guy who becomes a convicted sexual predator a few weeks later accomplishes what?

So SCATS would have favored leaving the man's name off of the first printing because innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply in these types of cases apparently... and THEN when the man is declared innocent, send out a SECOND mailing adding his name to it?

Seems like a waste of time and money when the correct way to approach the situation was what the district did. (If a mailing HAD to be sent...)

To 3:11PM ~~ Yes, as I already explained, leaving his name off given the circumstances seems prudent to me :)

Nowhere did I say to do a second mailing for one person. The next time the district needed to do a mailing for whayever reason, they could acknowledge his retirement.

When it comes to wasting time and money, people who think LIKE YOU DO are masters at it.

I heard he is going to open a day care.

To 10:20PM ~~ Not very funny ...

SCATS is a off base on this one.

To 4:12AM ~~ I don't think so, but you are entitled to your wrong opinion :D

Any opportunity to bash a teacher... This one seemed like a winner too didn't it? Too bad it turned out to be a slanderous, malicious, mean girl accusation! I guess it would be too much to expect apologies and/or retractions from the savants on this site who didn't like the "looks" of former marine Barry Morris. Nice work. I don't know who wins the prize for meanness: the girl who attempted to ruin a man's life or the crowd that stood by and shouted "crucify him!".

To 9:25AM ~~ Instead of displacing your anger here, why don't you take it up with the DA's office? After all is said and done, it sounds like THEY ARE THE ONES who tried to go after him without a case ;) Sandra Doorley is disappointed with the jury's decision.

SCATS:

We should always be careful in these kinds of cases, but you raise a good point.

Why did the DA go ahead with this case if the main witness had, as it appears, some major credibility issues? That should have been known in advance by the DA.

If the DA was not able to figure this out then it doesn't look from an ordinary citizen's perspective like they are doing their job.

On the other hand they let dirty politicians walk free.

Good point SCATS. If the DA had bothered to try to build a solid case this wouldn't have gone beyond the preliminary stage. If you think the comments on here were harsh (they really weren't so bad in my opinion), try reading the tv news sites!

It's very rare that SCATS makes a good point and this is another case of that ;)

But I just love messing with you. It's so fun and easy!!!

To 10:55AM ~~ Obviously, you're still suffering from a bad case of "cat scratch fever" which you contracted the FIRST time you made such a decision ;)

I have a hard time believing a kid would not only make it up but testifying for 2 days being grilled by some attorney. Maybe Rahn should have used his attorney and he would have been innocent too.

The little girl was really an administrator in disguise.
