"Neighbors" On Opposite Sides Of The Fence Over Walmart

POINT ...

“I blame the town of Greece for letting it (Northgate Plaza) become such an eyesore, and not enforcing codes that they should have been staying on top of. The people at Town Hall need to be more responsible. They’re too comfortable. Does our voice really matter? I’m thinking not.” ~~ Carol Messina-Provost, VP of Northgate Neighbors.

COUNTERPOINT ...

“I personally am very much in favor of this project (Walmart) going forth and being completed. Our frustration was all about nothing happening, and now finally something is happening.” ~~ Jeremy Carter, Pres. Northgate Neighbors.

(Source ~ Greece Post)

SCATS ~~ I agree 100% with Messina-Provost's opinion. Mr. Carter sounds like he doesn't care if a strip club goes in ... as long as "something happens."

You know what Greece really needs over there right around Northgate is a good open and aboveboard whorehouse.

Since the massage parlors got closed down it seems like there is a plapable tension among the Town leaders, both Town and School that was never there when the Ling Rd and Buckman Plaza rub & tug parlors were open.

Not only would a decent whorehouse salve our leaders, it would generate tax income to the town, and with all Baxters new cops he could set up a vehicle inspection checkpoint closeby and issue a load of tickets. Greece might even become the number 1 town in DWI arrests.

The article I read in the paper says Walmart won't be open over there for some time, but a decent low budget cathouse could be up and running in a matter of a month. There are already empty stores at Northgate, and plenty of parking. You could put it back there where Dime bank used to be and no school children would have to walk by.

I'm even pretty sure Stupidvisor Hairburger would attend some kind of ribbon cutting cerimony, and there ought to be used furniture available from the fellow who ran the place on Ling Rd.

Greece already has one big whore house. Drive down Long Pond past Latta Road and turn at he big building complex with the "RED LIGHT"

2:43 Good thinking. It could be a cooperative like the craft/antique coop on ridge rd but with a happy ending. Vendors could buy booth space and take appointments or walk-in customers. They could take turns greeting customers at the door as they walk in. It is an idea whose time has arrived.
There are a lot of empty spaces at the mall on ridge too. Someone should contact the wilmots. It could also solve problems for the developer that bought irondequoit mall .. Too bad it is slightly illegal. But if it is just "massage therapy" ???

More seriously

THE town of Greece really doesn't care what residents think. Unless it is something that will get votes

To 1:39PM ~~ They play to the senior citizen crowd, especially Auggie. Give them a free lunch, a handshake and a smile and the politician gets his "happy ending" in the form of a vote. Apparently Maggie Brooks has taken note of the success of doing this, thus the "new" Rx cards with a Photo-Shopped pic of the new Maggie on the front ;)

BLOG Administration refuses to post the comments received attacking one of the people quoted in the article. NICE TRY, but your beef is ancient history. Deal with it ;)

To the persistent person who keeps attempting to post their "issue" ~~ Your initial comment WAS INTENDED to be an attack on an individual about a topic that has ZERO RELEVENCE to the topic up for discussion here. Just because you decided to play nice after several failed attempts to post your now veiled but still contrived attack doesn't mean I'm going to reward you with a soapbox to call your own. Whether or not I agree with or disagree with what you've brought up for discussion has no bearing on this discussion either. In fact, YOUR stance and reluctance to back-off epitomizes the reason why anonymous BLOGS are necessary in this town. Thank you for ensuring my future endeavors with this hobby :)

To the persistent person ~~ Bringing up the personal appearance of a person quoted in the press and trying to make it the (changed) subject of the discussion is beyond juvenile. It's very typical of Greece. I'm closing this thread with what I wrote before:
