Project On Rezoned Parcel Opposed By Group

Greece Planning Board hears loud opposition to proposed senior housing complex near Sawyer Park.

Many complain they never received notice that land was to be rezoned.

Looking at this on pg 16 the last name of Arena came up. hasn't this last name been in the news recently. Any relation?

To 3:08PM ~~ The person in the news was Frank Arena. I don't know about any relationship to the one in the document I linked.

Put in the perspective of the wind-turbine proposal, I guess it really matters which members of the town aristocracy live near the proposed building site.

Zoning is such a minor thing in Greece, cheap to change, especially if you're a bank with a repopped parcel that has residential zoning with a use exception permit.

A call, a check and suddenly the property in the middle of the block is commercial so it will bring the banker a bigger profit at auction. No hoops to jump through, no public notices to bother with, just gotta know the right person in Town Hall.

Zoning is only inconvenient for the little people.
