Suddenly, Consistency Matters ...

"One of the major challenges in managing a district of this size is making sure you are consistent in how things are carried out, whether that's curriculum and instruction or assessments, how the facilities are managed or in having effective communication. But a district of this size provides great opportunities too because you have the ability to see within the district where the high performers are and why and replicate that throughout the district." ~~ Former Supt. Steve Achramovitch on finding his replacement (Source)

"What Greece needs is some consistency. I'd like to see a superintendent be here for five or seven years so we can have some time to see what they accomplish. I'd like to see the same board be here and let's see what we can accomplish in five or seven years. All this turnover is astounding and sad for the district." ~~ Sean McCabe, a future former BOE member
SCATS ~~ There's been a lack of consistency in creating and applying school board & district policies. There's been a lack of consistency in where administration has made budget cuts. There's been a lack of consistency in how schools attempt to teach curriculum. There's been a lack of consistency in almost everything except for GCSD's ongoing need to find a true leader who is willing to stand up to the special interest groups and just say "NO!"

Why is McCabe speaking for the district? Was he asked to do so? He is neither board president, nor vp. Whose permission did he get to be able to speak for the district?

I attended Greece schools and now live out of state. It is amazing to me that people think Greece is such a huge district. Our school district (which is higher performing) has 72 schools with one superintendent (paid a similar salary to that of the Greece superintendent). We also don't seem to run through superintendents nearly as often.

More than consistency we need 'credibility' - people leading this district that are credible.
As long as we have people running and or giving direction to running this district who are not credible we are only kidding ourselves.

As long as we have board members and or administration members who think it ok to say to the community 'I don't care how you vote I am going to raise your taxes anyway'.
A statement of that nature would never come from someone credible, someone you can 'trust'.

Dear SCATS,
I do not mind your editing of my comment. I am not one who condones name calling. If my choice of descriptors were not suitable, are the following terms suitable for use. "Orally flatulent" or "repository of heated nefarious vaporous emissions". These descriptors are technically accurate while not purposefully inflammatory. Please advise.

To 12:35PM ~~ It all depends on WHAT you are describing, I suppose. Try to focus on his ideas, statements, etc. instead of judging him overall.
