RAHN SENTENCE: 1 2/3 TO 5 YEARS

Judge Affronti: "As chief, it was in fact, your job to know. You were not merely an enabler. You turned a blind eye and ordered the misdeeds of your subordinates, who followed your orders to the letter."

Rahn: "I have nothing I would hide, I have nothing I'm embarrassed about. I'd take a polygraph test today ... It's unfortunate I didn't take the stand in my own defense - it's unfortunate. Again, hindsight is 20/20. This is the first time you've heard my side."

STORY

“The fate of those who violated our trust has been determined and we continue to move forward. I would like to thank the residents of Greece for their patience and make a special expression of gratitude to the men and women of the Greece Police Department for their perseverance during this difficult period. As a department, we are poised for greatness. Today, the Greece Police Department is, top to bottom, a completely different organization with a dedicated group of men and women led by Chief Todd Baxter.” ~~ Supervisor Auberger (SOURCE)

"Rahn is going to Elmira prison. The irony is that's where Nick Joseph is." ~~ Berkeley Brean Twitter

To 2:30PM ~~ Are you suggesting that corruption still exists after "leaving no stone unturned" at a $1 million cost???

Anonymous said...

Heaven's to Betsy SCATS who could possibly think that

To 5:30PM ~~ Anyone with a pulse!

Honestly, how can Auberger look at himself in the mirror day after day - he is just as guilty if not guiltier (if there is such a thing) as Rahn - 3 others should be in jail as well.

What really bothers me is watching the jovial, smiling faces of Relin, Green and Loszynski in the background of the media videos covering the courthouse scene today. If politics wasn't involved, why would Relin be there?

you are right, was like a public flagging.

do not believe everything mr bean says a check of the nys inmate lookup reveals that n joseph is in mid state corr not elmira as reported also rahn will sit in livinston county until the state is ready for him and he will go to wende for eval then probaly on to elmira unlike his co workers rahn will almost immediatley be available for work release because his conv are non violent and he could be sent to rochester cf richt out of wende the key will be if he passes the alky eval if not then the state will force him into programs which have a long waiting list which will keep him locked up longer

Does anyone know what/who determines if the 5 years can or will be served? I know some it of it is up to a parole board but I think prison officials have a say as well. Just the facts, please.
Thanks.

To 9:14AM ~~ I believe Nick has been bounced around a bit. He started out at Dannemora ... I never understood why he was sprung out of there so quickly. Pignato is in Oneida.

To 10:04AM ~~ I heard a reporter say that the shorter amount of time would be possible pending "good behavior" etc. That was related to a chat with Parrinello about a possible appeal.

Time to move on and concentrate on Augie. He stays quiet only so people may forget about him. I say it is only a matter of time before he screws up again, he can't help it.

To e e cummings at 9:14 regarding your thought "if he passes the alky eval"

If he hasn't shaken that monkey before he is sent away he will be very uncomfortable. Unless they offer a maintenance dose to keep him stable. Do they?

To 6:01PM ~~ Seriously?! A maintenance dose of Jim Beam?

Scats, they would have to or they would have someone going through detox. Theoretically. Unless he already has been through the program. It appears his wife hasn't.
Maybe that was the reason for the delay in sentencing. 28 day or 6 week or 90 day program?
