BOE Appoints Acting & Interim Supts

Did they have an open & posted meeting Monday night?

BOE Convenes Tuesday Meeting & Immediately Goes Into Exec. Session "to discuss the employment history of a particular person/s and events of the last 24 hours." ~~ Patrick Tydings, Circus Posse Prez.
  • BOE votes 9 to 0 to appoint Don Nadolinski Acting Supt. for July 1 to July 22, 2010
  • BOE votes 9 to 0 to appoint John R. O'Rourke Interim Supt. effective July 23, 2010
  • BOE votes 9 to 0 to pay an $800/day transitional stipend for up to 5 days to Steve Achramovitch, if needed.
"We met until the late hours last night ..." ~~ Pat Tydings

SCATS ~~ Where & when was last night's meeting posted?? It certainly was NOT on BoardDocs!

  • BOE moves self-evaluation to their retreat over the summer.
  • BOE moved the discussion of GCSD & BOE goals to the July meeting.
  • BOE approves 3 yr. lease agreement (not to exceed $64,440/yr.) for Family Support Center at West Ridge School
SCATS ~~ Let's thank Roger Boily for this ongoing waste of $$. This resolution pretty much ensures that West Ridge will survive as a school for the next three years even if no one opts to attend it! I'm told that there are STILL only enough kids for two sections of Kindergarten in Sept. despite all of their best efforts to recruit more.

  • Last night our BOE agreed to move up their reorganizational meeting to July 6th @ 6:30PM at Olympia HS.
SCATS ~~ Again, I ask where & when was this meeting posted that was held last night? Did the BOE vote on moving the July meeting date? What other business did they conduct last night??

Most Ridiculous Utterance ~~ "Coming up with new ideas at the last minute solves nothing!" ~~ Roger Boily's angry response to Gale O'Toole's suggestion that the money for the lease agreement might be better spent providing additional counseling services in other locations after hours.

SCATS ~~ Yes folks, you heard that right! New ideas are NOT appreciated, especially when they resolve a problem ;) Kudos to Gale O'Toole for trying to think outside the box, anyway!

Who is John O'Rourke?

SCATS said...

To 7:31PM ~~ He is a former Supt. from Pittsford. Let's hope he can make miracles happen.

Greece can't even help itself.
Keep pointing fingers!

To 8:22PM ~~ I'm not quite sure what you are referring to or whom that is directed towards. GCSD couldn't fight its way out of a perforated paper bag with a DVD demo for instructions to help them!

I am not understanding this $68,000 per year to rent space when we have the old Barnard just sitting there.

SCATS said...

To 9:18PM ~~ Even harder to understand is how we can afford that when we were too poor to have a second vote costing only $47,000!

Here is an article that shows he left Pittsford in 2000 to work in Howard County Maryland. He was not asked to renew his contract in 2004 and went to be interim in Shenandehowah NY. So he is not direct from Pittsford and if you read the article he had a stormy time in Howard County.

Scats, you are absolutly right about the money for the second vote. Anyone paying attention knows how 'phony' it was to use the cost as reason for not having another vote.
It also goes to show the hypocracy on the part of board members to include the community in a **meaningfull** way. There shortsighted thinking will have longterm consequences.
It's all about TRUST.

Lets see the BOE and the District cry about having no money for a re-vote and the programs for the children. But, we have money to rent posh office space for the administration, send them and the BOE on retreats, pay to supers $800.00 a day and Don Nadolinski$2000.00 for three weeks work. This District has gotten to be such a huge joke!

....and you would complain about the cost of the revote too. A contigent budget is always a legal option. Perhaps you should advocate to change that law...

SCATS said...

To 1:29PM ~~ Actually, when the budget vote when down, I stated that the BOE should make the needed cuts and put the budget back up for voter support. Thanks for attempting to be my mind reader though. You aren't the first to fail in that endeavor ;)

Did any of the unions bring up the new state retirement incentives as a possible savings to the district last night?

SCATS said...

To 5:31PM ~~ No, since this wasn't a regular monthly business meeting, the unions wouldn't get time to speak.

...but you still would have complained........about something.

To 9:50PM ~~ Who/what are you commenting about?

9:50 & 1:29, It's both comical and sad to read your statement(s), just over a week away from our Counrty's national day of independence celebration. Nothing should be questioned or commented on as it relates to this town's politics, that's your theory, right? Things are going so well in this district that the common person should just sit back and leave it on cruise control, right? If these are really your thoughts on the subject, you are clearly some combination of the following: deaf, dumb, blind, or someone who is/has been responsible for f'ing this district up! You may need to look into your GCSD history books for this, but when things aren't questioned, we end up in situations like we are in now. Thanks for helping to get us here!

Are you wearing your flag lapel pin?

SCATS said...

To 1:20PM ~~ I am. I'll bet you don't own one, right? ;)

No 1:20, I believe I left my pin and the jacket it was on at your sister's place... things got a little out of control. Ask her to return them please. Thank you.

To 4:05PM ~~ You win the "Most juvenile comment of the week" award hands down, even if was deserved.
