So their lawyer is using the "change, postpone and stall" method of vexing Walmart. It's the American legal system's old stand-by. The group has found the right lawyer.

9 to 1 odds Walmart wins if they want to build the store in the current financial environment.

Walmart undoubtedly has stats & projections for the store that set a value on building -v- walking away. Walmart has a legal budget for that store and a track record on site selection for new stores.

Facts will generally win over emotions in the business world.

Walmart will eventually make the decision while the citizens group bleeds dollars through the eyeballs.

To 1:49PM ~~ You are likely correct. What rather surprises me is that Greece Town "officials" keep saying the last hurdles have been cleared, only to face another hurdle or two. I wonder where they get their info from ... ?

From an inside source in the building and facilities and permits, the project is right on schedule.

To 2:42PM ~~ That sounds awfully arrogant in that it conveys the idea that the "hurdles" are ignored. What the community sees is a dumpy plaza that looks worse daily.

The plans on paper are moving along according to schedule. No hurdles are being ignored because they can't be. What we see outside is not what is really happening. Lots has to happen as far as the infrastructure, utilities eg. And there lots of demolition planned that requires as many permits as the construction.

To 4:28PM ~~ Plans on paper are always subject to a potential early demise by fire, flood or even shredder ;) lol
