I hope the Greece budget gets defeated too. A loud message is desperately needed. They refuse to listen to anything else. Sad.

Reminds me of that song "Going, going, down doobie doobie down. Going, going down doobie doobie down. Spending less is hard to do!"

This Budget must be voted down.

Scats quick question, why did you change the format to you deciding what gets posted. Just wondering.

SCATS said...

To 8:12AM ~~ What change of format?

I voted two "no" votes and bullet voted Grinnan. My polling place wasn't very busy. That's not a good sign.

Unless the budget goes down by a very wide margin, the boe only plans to cut about $1mil before declaring a contingent budget. Choose WHO you vote for carefully.

When I was on this blog before you did not decide what got posted. you removed it if it was offensive. It looks like now you are censoring the public's opinion. It is your blog so you can do what you wish. I was just wondering what caused you to change it.

Any word on turnout?

doesn't it strike you as a little ironic that the state legislature, which can't/won't pass a budget REQUIRES all the school districts to vote on their today? How can any school district have a real budget to vote on when the large state aid portion of the revenue side is an unknown? School districts either lowball the state aid for their district and overtax the people, or they highball the aid and have to scramble to cut items from their now insufficient revenue. The odds of getting it right are almost zero, but we the people must vote. What a dysfunctional mess!!!

To 11:41AM ~~ The folks in Albany have been VERY BUSY. Just last week I heard they spent a recent afternoon debating the merits of seahorse farming!

To 8:53AM ~~ This place is drowning in opinions. What "opinion" did I not post?

To 11:26AM ~~ I watched two TV stations noon news shows. One mentioned that today was the vote & directed people to check their website for polling times. The other one didn't mention it, as far I heard. I think it's safe to say that the powers that be are hoping today is very quiet at their polls ... i.e. only the yeas turn out.

UPDATE ~~ from a poll worker who tells me that it was very busy at their polling place. Quite a mix of people came through ranging in age.

What do you think about the exit poll? I myself have never voted no but did today. I listed all the reasons and answered all questions. I feel I probably wasted a few moments of my life.

To 1:49PM ~~ I won't be voting until tonight, so I don't know what that poll asks. It would be nice to have one to post on here. Then we could collect comments from all of the people who weren't asked to fill out an exit poll. My polling place rarely has any. In fact, I've specifically asked for an exit poll in the past to have the poll workers say they had no idea what I was talking about ;)

snDO NOT FORGET THE POLL!!!

To 2:06PM ~~ Huh??

From this morning, I'm told that Lakeshore was quite busy. Kirk Rd. moderately busy. Buckman Hts. was dead. Buckman is usually a "no vote" center, so this could be a bad omen about anyone's hopes for defeating the budget.

SCATS:
Why didn't Pat Tydings run for re-election? His term is up, right?

SCATS said...

To 2:43PM ~~ I have no idea, but I'm very happy that he chose not to run again. Anyone else know why he didn't?

Let's keep out fingers crossed that the budget passes!!!

SCATS said...

To 8:57PM ~~ Since you look forward to paying at least $190 more in school taxes, would you mind picking up my school tax increase too? Pretty please????

Long Ridge was PACKED at 6 PM with many NO voters not afraid to complain while waiting

No - you can pay yours!
