An Easter Request For The BOE ...

OMG! There IS an Easter Bunny! He informed me that the BOE recently received the transportation report! It's available through FOIL, too! I'm also told that an administrative report listing admin positions in GCSD and other Monroe County districts has been provided to the BOE.

Can I get one thing in my Easter basket if nothing else? How's about that transportation report! How long can we and the pathetic BOE sit around demanding, yet not seeing this report?    4/03/2010 11:07 PM

Any resemblance to the Greece school board officers is merely coincidental.

A man at one of the board meetings recently made THE point.
I have 4 busses come down my street every morning to take kids to 4 different high schools.
A short time later I have 4 busses come down my street to take kids to 4 different middle schools. And on and on.
This has been going on for years.
Now try telling that person we need over 7% increase in his taxes and that we are doing all this stuff to save money and to spend taxpayers money wisely.

GOOD LUCK

Don't worry, the report is coming. You just have to be patient so they can spin the numbers/facts to seem acceptable to taxpayers. On a telling note, it sure is taking them a long time to figure out a way to do this. Please be understanding of this though, as facts SO cut and dry are rather tuff to smoke-screen.

I am having a hard time understanding how a study needs to be done by anyone other than administration. Most of all if the study does not include the educational benefits of the mega-bussing being done.
I truly believe this study is being withheld until after approval of the budget by the board. I also believe thats how the board wants it.
This bussing issue is old and has been convieniently and purposely ignored. With no tax increase residents were willing to look the other way - with a 7+% tax increase people are going to demand answers and rightfully so.

What 10:21am overlooks in an otherwise well thought out comment is that the sheeple of Greece don't demand anything unless it is their kid's right to have the very best that GCSD has to offer regardless of cost to others. Name one high turnout "event" in years that was driven by the overall consequences of a tax hike regardless of % increase. Answer is you cannot. But if Johnny's kindergarten is moved, Bobby's athletics are in jeopardy (or rogue coach is disciplined), their bus stop got moved 100' further, or their dramatically underutilized school is threatened with closure then watch the sheeple turn into lemmings and raise hell. Of course the minute they get what they want all other far more important educational and financial issues will become trivia to them. This is the culture and character of Greece. That is why many of us wish we had chosen somewhere else to live. But that train has left the station, for now.

Any updates on the shooting of the 3 men at the Holyoke apartments? Can you really get away with murder in Greece as long as it is not random?

To 2:55PM ~~ Chief Baxter hinted that it may be a very long time before that case is ever resolved and then it might come from some sort of match in a DNA database or other resource.

To 2:56PM ~~ Your remarks are way off-base and totally inappropriate. I purposefully decided to not post any BLOG to bring attention to a certain family who best get on with their lives, healing themselves and taking some personal responsibility for the tragedy they helped to shape.
