NGN's Complete Executive Board

Several of you have asked, so I went to the group's President, Jeremy Carter, to get the following info about who is who on the NGN Board. Here's the scoop:

"I was just re-elected as President - reaffirming the membership's desire to maintain non-partisan status. Carole Messina-Provost was re-elected (unopposed) as vice president. Pastor Anne O'Connor has been our secretary since the beginning but is so schedule tight that Pat Amato will assume that office by board approval. Joan Kelly is our treasurer (in mid-term). Directors in mid-term are Dave Garretson and Rebecca Jaffarian, and 2 new directors (running unopposed) are Charles Ennis and Dan Maloney. There is one vacant seat (reserved for outgoing president (if exist) to maintain continuity). Since there is no outgoing president the board will appoint a person to occupy this seat per our bylaws."

Jeeze Jeremy, don't be so full of yourself! You're a hack who wears a badge of declared independence.

That makes you a weasel.

Then look at the rest of them. I can see 4 hacks right off the bat coming in from the democraps.

That's 4 hacks, a church goer, and a couple of nuts.

40,000+ members, really?

SCATS said...

To 4:31PM ~~ I really ought to delete your comment for your name-calling (hack) and continued use of "democrap." But I prefer to ask you to show us where you got your 40,000+ members figure from. Well, where? And what's wrong with being s church-goer?

isn't the first amendment wonderful? The NGN gives you a responsible answer and 4:31PM delivers a load of nonsense. The Tea Party has a less responsible organization than the NGN.
Now I don't happen to agree with all the Wal-Mart delays but the NGN represents what our free country encourages citizens to do on their own behalf. How about 4:31PM telling us about the civic activities that have enriched his/her life! Bet it doesn't go beyond the NRA and listening to Rush and Glenn.

To 5PM ~~ Let's not engage in a partisan peeing contest, OK? You people on both sides need to give up the politics for the betterment of our town.

Scats, I remember that claim came from Jeremy himself back in August when YNN interviewed him. Although instead of members, it was residents represented.

"Carter’s the president of NorthGate Neighbors. The association represents nearly 40,000 Greece residents."

As I said before, NGN doesn't represent ME and I don't like that claim.

I agree with 6:04. Some 50 odd people in a town this side think they speak for everyone on this side of Greece?

Not me either. They are closed, clubby, and just as corrupt.

The church goer is the only validating part in my opinion. But then again, in Greece, who knows anymore.

First Bible Baptist is beyond scary.

SCATS said...

To 6:04PM ~~ I vaguely recollect something like that now that you mention it. However, I don't recall whether Carter was the one who made the claim, or the reporter assumed. Either way, that's kind of amusing, in my mind.

To 6:18PM ~~ Closed? Corrupt? How so? They have open meetings and just held open elections. Since they are a membership group, perhaps they are entitled to some closed events, since people paid dues to belong. Where's the corruption?

The church-goer comment was aimed at the Pastor, whom I believe officiates at Aldersgate Methodist Church, not First Bible Baptist.

Scats, your comment of 5:58 was one of your most unenlightened remarks. Are you drifting away from reality? Read it again! And I know who you are so save the lectures. Ok.....now we will have to suffer the arrogant response from Ms. I Know Best. Of course deletion is around the corner.......Give it your best shot!!!!!

Let me break this down for you:

NGN Board now consists of three republicans (Carter, Messina-Provost, and Kelly). and the following Democrats: Amato, Garretson, RJ, Maloney and Ennis.

And the President(who calims to be non-partisan) is the most political of the entire membership. Sucking up to Town Hall on a regular basis. Can't get more partisan than that!

Who really cares, as long as demolition of Northgate Plaza moves along i don't care who is on the board. The only ones that will be heartbroken are the rats that have had the run of the place for years.

Messina Provost is a Maloney Dem fan. At all his fundraisers and was the one who made the "Mexican" comment at the NGN Meeting! Another bean to the Dem counter!

I feel like I've missed something. Was there some kind of requirement to have specific political backing to become a member of NGN's board?

Anonymous said...

40,000 residents and how many members? Less than a hundred? Less than 75? Less than fifty? What's the actual count of NGN members? And why pay to be a member of a neighborhood organization that could care less about the econmic development of the neighborhood if they are against Walmart?

"Some 50 odd people in a town "

Being odd is a requirement??? I guess that explains DG's and RJ's status.

They get more press here than anywhere else. Where's their website? I googled for it and it is gone.

Dues were literally eaten up with pizza and pop - nothing left a website by which anyone of the 40,000 represented can see what is being done or said.

Question: The issue with anyone directly affiliated with either of the communities political committees having ANY form of control or position of status within ANY grassroots organization or neighborhood group like NGN affords them undue influence over the organization, the interests of the organization and ultimately the community that NGN wishes to accomplish.

The reason they decide to seek these types of positions and influence is that of politics and not necessarily the best interests of the community, due to their ego, or their planned future interest.

You see it happen over and over and it should not be allowed. It should be NEIGHBORS of Northgate, not friends of politicians who can't get elected, or friends of elected politicians who want to manipulate and control the masses through the use of tools.

Come on now - Garretson? He's the one who didn't pay his taxes 5 years ago? Lost miserably as I recall and is still dragging his corpse around Greece looking for a pal?

To 7:28PM ~~ I'm much too busy being Joe Moscato to bother with deleting your remarks.

To 7:42PM ~~ Be careful what you wish for. In this town demolition might be as far as it goes, with rubble left for another decade.

To 7:44PM ~~ In Greece, it's all about who you are ... and what you can do for the "powers" on either side. So far, they tied some cheap Chinese ribbons onto a bunch of utility poles to show support for GPD.

To 8:56PM ~~ I wasn't aware they had a website. Hmmm ...

To 9:10PM ~~ I was all ready for your question, but you never asked one ;)

They used to have one, it was never updated. Now it is deleted. You can kind of pull up a cahce of it but it is pretty bare and ends in 2006.

I don't care about political affiliation of the members. If they are the only ones who want to get involved that's that. Plus people slammed Maloney for not having any community action of experience, now he is getting involved you can't slam him for that.

SCATS said...

To 11:18PM ~~ You make a good point about community involvement. It can be done without politics even if you are seen as a politician. Hopefully, that's what he will bring to the table. In Greece there's been too much involvement by just one group and it's caused a lot of trouble.

Anonymous said...

If Maloney uses the NGN position simply to attack the town and then runs for political office again, will you acknowledge the obvious fact that he's only doing this as a political springboard? Or will he get a pass? Don't worry, we all know you're not Joe Moscato SCATS.

SCATS said...

To 11:06AM ~~ "To attack the town?" Like the Taliban or Al Quada? What kind of attack to the town are you talking about? Do you realize how silly you sound saying things like that? Probably not ...

No, I really am Joe Moscato. and he's agreed to be my shadow :)

Thank you for the communist/socialist point of view 5:00.....the Tea Party is about FREEDOM.....I have a feeling (by the name calling and personal attacks) that 4:31 is more on your side than you think.
The NRA and Glenn are all about freedom as well.
I challenge you to listen to Glenn (really listen) and see what you disagree with. He is for letting YOU choose what to do with your life and live with YOUR choices, not having the government tell you what's best and bail you out when you make poor choices. Sounds American to me.

11:26 7:28 and 5:00 piecing your mindful wanderings together we can figure you think scats is a female from the leadership of the northgate group. Miss scarlet with the candlestick in the library?

SCATS said...

To 3:13PM ~~ That's it! OMG, you got me!!

After 4 yrs. I'm weary of the speculation, games, innuendo, "guesses" and all the rest. Any future comments about SCATS' identity will be deleted without comment. Capisce, folks?

Why not just come outta the closet then SCATS? And make everyone here register their real names with a Google account. Give this site some legitimacy if you really want to change things.

SCATS said...

To 12:33PM ~~ While I could force everyone who wants access to the BLOG to get a blogger account, I can NOT force everyone to "use their real names." The onus for verifying each name would ultimately be left up to me anyway, since blogspot doesn't provide such a service.

If SCATS wasn't "legitimate" people would have stopped blogging here LONG ago ;)
