Is Auberger Using the New Chief To Play Politics?

FYI Baxter has been advised not to talk to any neighborhood or community groups as per Auberger. Apparently Town Hall is planning some big community wide meeting and wants to introduce him at that time. So that NGN or Anti Walmart organization is left out in the cold thanks to Auggie. Guess he isn't too happy with NGN.  2/20/2010 6:47 PM

SCATS ~~ It sounds like our Supervisor is punishing the Northgate Neighborhood Group for allowing the town's citizens to question him too harshly just prior to the November elections.

For anyone who thought the pd turned over a new leaf, think again. The corruption at the top remains.

This is not an auspicious start.
It makes it sound like Baxter is already under Auberger's thumb.

When is he going to arrest Auberger?

This is why people cast blogs in such a negative light.

Once again here, an accusation is made with no facts or proof.

Then the owner of this site runs with the unproved accusations and begins to use it to harm another individual, acting as if the baseless claim has already been proven.

I'm curious, is this done for political purposes, is it an innate hatred for certain people in this community, or are some people just looking to cause trouble at other people's expense?

I'm asking, not making baseless accusations.

Not for nothing, it is fact that members of the local democratic party and democratic candidates from last year's elections controll NGN and are consolidating their power there. Watch who becomes their new leader this year.

the blogger at 10:44 rials against the use of the blog for political ends p then goes on to accuser another groups of being too political. Thus using the blog for political purposes to attack "democrats" You can;t have it both ways

I know little about NGN but I do know that towns leaders will only consider it legitimate when it is lead by people the town republican leaders will approve of.

To 10:44AM ~~ You stated: " This is why people cast blogs in such a negative light."

Where is the proof of that?

Another baseless accusation. LOL!!!

To 11:32AM ~~ If you believe that Auberger will permit anyone to introduce the new chief without being present AND in control himself, then you must be new to town. Uncle Auggie doesn't do anything unless he can take credit for it ... not even the finger puppets made during library craft times happen without attribution to him :)

i see no problem with the town wanting to be the first to do an 'event' in official capacity. but, it should have been planned for immediately after baxter started instead of holding up everyone else.

SCATS said...

To 11:47AM ~~ I agree with that. In fact, I wonder why it wasn't planned for the day he was sworn in since they already had the Senior Center set up for a crowd.

Maybe Auggie will wait for May when he can do it under the big tent. The Republicans love a circus.

To 11:56AM ~~ With clowns?? :)

Another FYI for you and your followers...the President of NGN is NOT a Democrat nor is the VP. Both are Auggie supporters.

"the President of NGN is NOT a Democrat nor is the VP"

Leadership is in the process of changing hands at NGN. Any guesses as to who'll be the new boss? As one opposed to rumors, I'll let SCATS check with his/her sources as to who's in the lead to take control of the group and who he's aligned with.

Keep us posted.

HINT: check with RJ. She might be able to shed some light and transparency on the new would-be leader. Never before a political organization, NGN is undergoing an "extreme makeover." ;)

12:31 Why don't you go to their meeting Wed and see for yourself?

Anonymous said...

Now you all are just getting plain silly!

You must go to sleep and think up negative ideas to share on this blog.

Simmer down allready!

To 12:53PM ~~ The only inane entry I see is yours! There is an NGN meeting Wed. night at Aldersgate Church for anyone who wants to attend. They will be electing new officers at that meeting, according to their newsletters. I have no idea who has stepped forward to be on their board. I believe you must be an actual member of the group to vote on that issue, but the election is held in public. Why not check it out?

I heard Dan Maloney was getting appointed to head Northgate Neighbors. Is that who you're talking about here? I don't agree with his selection (if that's true) as he's too political and it'll hurt the work the group does.

SCATS said...

To 8:46AM ~~ I haven't heard anything about their slate of candidates. Assuming you are correct, if you don't like the choice/s then either you need to step forward to run for the position, or find someone else who is willing to make the same commitment. As I recall from last year's elections, there were barely enough people interested to fill the positions. Anyone who does these kinds of community service jobs deserves praise. There is little "reward" in most of them.

I think there are many republicans in Greece who think nay [post held by democrats even if it just a group like NGN is an affront.
If this info is true and Dan wants to do the work and he can get the votes more power to him. He is a Greece resident.

SCATS said...

To 10:48AM ~~ I totally agree. But you need to realize the Republicans can only survive as long as they continue to divide us every way possible, including on topics like this.

There's nothing wrong with injecting politics into a neighborhood goup. It happens all the time. Plus this position will help Maloney if he decides to run for office again. How's that bad?

SCATS said...

To 10:54AM ~~ I totally disagree. If you want to be political, run for a public office in a true political race. The purpose of a neighborhood group is to serve the interests of that group of neighbors, not some political party who decides to use it as a springboard to a bigger office that pays a taxpayer funded job. Your mindset about how it's "done all the time" is part of the good ole boys "gotta keep the status quo" view that has sent this town down the sewer.

Is there really doing to be a coup d'etat with that Northgate Crazy Neighbors group? RJ's not answering. I left several messages on her blog and they weren't acknowledged. She usually writes about that stuff and it appears she hasn't written anything in a few weeks.

Tell us what you know SCATS. Is it true about the Coup d' Etat?

SCATS said...

To 4:44PM ~~ I can't predict anything like that since it all depends on WHO decides to throw their name in the hat and last minute additions are possible. Plus I don't know what members will or won't show up to vote. Personally, I don't think the current man in-charge has ever uttered a word to local media that I agree with ... maybe I will run ;)

Why all the hoopla in regards to a neighborhood group? I believe they are concerned about their neighborhood. Some support WalMart some do not. Some are Democrats some Republicans, and some well who knows for sure.

SCATS said...

To 6:41AM ~~ I agree! Getting them to accept each other is a monumental task.
