Article Discusses Qualities Baxter Brings To The Job

"I have a lot of homework to do in the next few weeks. But the first thing is to instill in the community a sense of trust so they can call on us without second-guessing who's going to show up at the door." ~~ Todd Baxter, New Greece PD Chief

STORY

SCATS ~~ I like what I'm hearing, so far. Many of these qualities are things our BOE should seek in a new Supt. : Someone who questions the status quo with a critical eye. Someone who others praise loud & often for their honesty, dedication, love of a challenge, sense of community involvement.

One question though, Chief-to-be. What do you recommend for some poor distraught woman who finds Schamerhorn at the door during a domestic dispute call for help?

Talk is cheap. The proof will be in action.

I hope Baxter can clean things up but it will involve going after Auberger.

You're totally on spot about that 2:15. Will he succumb to Auberger's control? If he doesn't, will he last?

To 2:15PM ~~ Talk backed up by action is a powerful thing. We'll definitely be watching ;)

The proof will be in the action - and I would hope with his character that he would not succumb to all the dirty politics in the Town. From what I have heard he is above that - time will tell.

Maybe he didn't realize how slimy it is here and will be either sucked in by them or will go away.
If he really knew how the lack of trust was truly merited he might not have tried out for the job.
Third possibility is he knew how corrupt our administration was and probably still is and can handle the job. Those that remain had to know the level of crime and cover-ups and did nothing but keep quiet. How can we ever trust people like that?

To 5:57PM ~~ I just hope we don't end up finding out he's good pals with Maggie's hubby.

Don't worry about Baxter becoming good friends with Maggie's husband. Gary Caiola, the undersherrif, has that all locked up.

I've heard that's why Cacola went from a detective to undersheriff. Got to admit those republicans stick together.
