SCATS ~~ It appears the BOE is trying to become more like the Town Board! ~~ "Closed, clubby & corrupt." They've already got corrupt down pat, so the focus is on closed & clubby.

Scats- looks like the boe is getting slammed with a lot of big decisions to make at a meeting that starts late, follows a long executive session and is in the midst of all the holiday turmoil. Pressure to conform and give in. Typical but not so creative on administration's part. Boe members should be very careful what they agree to. Some of this will get teeth and bite them in the butt later on.

FYI:From Dave Hathaway: As of December 1, 2009 GCSD will be working with a contractor in an effort to flush resident and / or migrational geese from district property. He will be using highly trained and supervised Labrador Retrievers to flush these nuisance geese in a safe, natural, effective manner. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has published the use of trained dogs to chase geese as among the most effective techniques available today.
Our contractor, T&C Goose Wranglers will be visiting daily many of our school grounds over the next month. He will be arriving in a vehicle marked with the company logo. Please allow Mr. Hendrick to work with his dogs, if you have any questions, concerns or information that may assistance us with locating gathering points, please contact myself at extension 2776 or Jody Button at 727-3907.

To 6:30PM ~~ Seriously!!??!!??

Yes, seriously. And many other districts throughout this area do this as well.

To 10:25PM ~~ OK. I admit, I thought this was a prank. Who is Dave Hathaway? Is there any reference to this contract in BOE minutes? Are T&C Goose Wranglers associated with Town & Country Pest Control? Exactly what does one do to "wrangle" a goose? I can't imagine Steve engaging in this goose business without hiring a consultant first ...
