Will Ann Mitchell Succeed Supt. Steve Achramovitch?

SCATS ~~ Is this why the BOE hasn't set up a search committee?

Anonymous said...

That's my guess. It occurred to me one day when I was thinking about the fact that Supt. Achramovitch will NOT be returning for the 2010-2011 school year (this right from the mouth of CP, who would know). I think the reason we are hearing nothing in terms of a search committee, etc. is because the BOE already knows who they will put in the top spot. Dr. AM -- I would bet my first born on it. I hope I'm wrong, but my instincts tell me otherwise.   11/06/2009 2:10 PM

Another loser to sink Greece even lower. But Boily can control her. So what else matters. Oh, she lives in Pittsford where the kids do come first.

Boily will hand pick three puppets to run for the BOE next May 2010. He will then clearly have the votes to give Steve a three year contract.

Only my opinion!

If this news is straight from the mouth of CP, remember the old addage about a woman scorned.

Leave my mouth out of this.

Fill me in re who cares. School boards are puppets regardless of who is in charge.

It's just that some of you loose sleep over that fact!

Ann Mitchell is not qualified for the job of head of Instruction and Curriculum. She was on the bubble last year and that's why she tried for the job in Penfield and failed.

The reason you are not hearing anything about the search committee is because no one has the guts on the board to tell the public the truth about the fate of Achramovitch. They are hiding behind executive session confidentiality.

I'm sorry but this board is as guilty as previous boards by engaging in back room politics and an outright dereliction of their sworn duty to keep the community informed, especially when it concerns the education of 13,000 students.

A responsible board would come clean about the future of our Superintendant and their plans to seek a new one. This subject is not executive session protected and the public has a right to know what is going on behind those closed doors. One man's job should not take precedence over the welfare and education of 13,000students. Unfortunately, some board members are guilty of following this course regarding Acrhamovitch's job. Any guesses as to who they are and who their leader is?

By the way, the first person a new super would remove would be CP who must wear corrective shoes to compensate for her round heels.

To 9:35AM ~~ Thank you for showing us in the post election devastation that complacency among the sheeple of Greece lives on!

I care. I do not lose sleep. I even voted. Did you??

What a pathetic, dramatic, over exaggeration. Give me a break.

As usual, you are way off the mark. Just as you were in naming Steve White the new chief of police back in August. Stick the facts and not innuendoes or rumours.

To 12:09PM ~~ In the bigger picture, I think 9:54AM's point is that EDUCATING the students NEVER GETS TOP BILLING in GCSD. We give them sports, performing arts centers, broadcasting studios and a Supt. who has difficulty fighting his way out of a paper bag resulting in some of the worst performances in the academic realm in all of Monroe County. It's not drama, it's FACT.

To 1:21PM ~~ I have to laugh at people such as you who try to discredit SCATS. I'm VERY careful with wording things. This is a perfect example of you throwing around unfounded accusations towards SCATS because YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

What SCATS wrote about Steve White in August was:

"Finalists Include:
1 ~ Major Steve White, State Police (Seen as most qualified)
2 ~ Captain Michael Ceretto, State Police (Has better political backing)
3 ~ Acting Chief, Brian Uhrmacher (Likely to be named Deputy Chief)"

Cerretto is considered THE MORE LIKELY CHOICE due to politics.

If this poster had any idea whatsoever what goes on behind closed doors, you would never make this assinine statement. I think it is pathetic that this school board neglects everything else in order to keep one incompetent, inept "name one good thing he has done in three years" person in his way overpaid job. This is FACT. Meanwhile we remain at the bottom of standings academically in Monroe County and our school board, like "Nero" fiddles while Rome burns. Call this dramatic, but it's the absolute truth.

If it's not, tell me one good thing this jerk has done in three years that in any way, shape or form has helped this school district. I know you can't so don't waste your time.

Ceretto will be the Chief of Police, if he can pass the Civil Service test which he failed before.

Board President Patrick Tydings should change his first name to "Patsy" because that is what he has become to Roger Boily. He is being used by Steve's advocate on the board to assist in the stonewalling effort to keep the lid on Steve. By stalling the search process long enough, getting a new super in place by June 30, 2010 will be next to impossible.

Here is Roger's game plan. In May, Roger gets three of his Rotary/Chamber cronies elected to the board thus creating a comfortable majority. If this present board cannot agree on a new super by the June 30 expiration of Achramovitch's contract, in July the new board will rehire him for at least three more years.

Make no mistake, the efforts of Boily have nothing to do with the education of our kids. What it's really about is control of this school board by less than 50 business people in this town, nothing more nothing less. If he really cared, he would join four other board members who have already decided to end Steve's employment because he has done nothing to improve the educational process in over three years.

Shame on us if we let Boily McCabe, Smith and Stenglein pull this off!

I don't know who 3:04 is, but I wish I had written it. Brilliant analysis. Greece is controlled by a band of well-dressed thugs who masquerade as responsible business leaders. If they are in Rotary, the Chamber and own or manage a business in town, or are former dep. supv. then you know who they are. Or the guy that hasn't missed a photo op in 30 years but supports all the crooks. The cesspool of Greece citizens. Unfortunately they run the asylum and we pay the bills. And now Auberger and his chosen political hacks will continue to crush us on taxes, permits, fees and back-room deals.
What a crappy place we live in. Thanks to the 80% who sat on their hands last week. And the horses rear-ends who don't give a crap about school board elections. Have you noticed that housing prices are down in Greece. Wonder why.

1) These four are the least respected so the problem is that there's no credibility.

2). Go steve- go steve- go steve-

I agree with 7:17 except for the well dressed part. Where did they get those shoes?

Some time ago there was a concreted effort to get the views of the chamber appear to be those of Greece at large.

When you let babbits run the store don't be surprised at the sterile conforming town you get.

Least respected measured by whom? I'd like to see how you arrived at your rankings ;)

Mr. Skeet,
You know as well as anyone that there are notification dates for termination/non-renewal of a Supt contract. The board is probably waiting for that magical date to announce what is (or is not happening) with the future of the Supt. They owe the public nothing more than to share that information once it becomes final and binding. AND, even if your opinion were accurate (three puppets to run for BOE next May) they wouldn't take office until July 1st - the Supts contract will have expired already ......
It will be interesting to watch to see what happens.

To 8:38AM ~~ I know your comments were directed elsewhere but I want to point out that the fact that the BOE evaluated Steve months ago and gave him NO INCREASE in salary is an event that is quite rare in the annals of GCSD. That sends a loud & clear message that the status quo is about to change ... if Tydings ever gets with the program.
