AUBERGER CALLS PRESS CONFERENCE

TODAY @ 2:30PM

REGARDING GREECE PD Chief

Ch 8 reports that Auberger wants a new police chief in place by mid-January. Successful applicants must either already be a chief or be on the civil service list for chief.

  • Auberger accepting applications until Dec. 8th.
  • Uhrmacher would qualify to apply.
  • Committee headed by Loszynski/McCann/Spencer will review contenders.
  • Auberger wants a person of integrity (unlike himself??) who will lead the department into the future.
  • Town Board & Supervisor will make final determination, hopefully by mid-January.
  • Loszynski's final report to be given to Auberger by end of January.
  • Public Safety Director position will not be filled once Loszynski leaves.
For your $500,000 investment, Loszynski said, "Just the chief was corrupt."

SCATS ~~ I'm calling a "hang onto your wallet" alert! And don't expect to EVER hear the real story about any of this. Loszynski even refused to say why his investigation continued beyond his prediction of ending it by Labor Day!

Is it to early to announce Mike Cerreto as police chief, along with former US Marshall(and NY state trooper)Pete Lawrence as public safety director?

they should investigate auberger first

Steve White will get the job. He is the top contender right now. Sorry to tell you that Joe Moscato.

To 5:46PM ~~ Both of those names were mentioned here on August

According to Herr Burger, our next chief will be someone with great personal integrity. That would certainly take Cerretto out of the running.

If you think Rahn was a political animal, wait till you get a load of Mike Cerretto's connections. Rahn was an amateur in comparison. The only difference between them is a question of loyalty. Merritt was too loyal. Cerretto has but one, himself, and those who do something for him. Look for a lot of early retirements when he takes charge.

I see only one problem. Ceretto's ego surpasses that of Auberger. This could get very interesting down the road.

To all you fans of Brian Erhmacher, forget it. He is currently 7th on the Civil Service list. The town must take one of the first three and Ceretto ranks second. A lot of things would have to happen to bring Brian into that postition. It's not impossible, but not probable.

Sorry to tell you 5:46, but Steve White is not on the Civil Service List at all and neither is Joe Moscato.

Although I think Joe would make an excellent chief, I doubt very much that he would be considered because of his age and political affiliations.

Check out the Civil Service list, it's posted.

To 6:40PM ~~ I don't think anyone was suggesting Joe Moscato would or could become GPD's chief. The reference made to him by 11/24/2009 5:46 PM was intended to mean that Joe's prediction about Cerretto becoming chief was wrong, I think.

After all of these months, not one of Rochester's esteemed media outlets thought it wise to provide a video of the press conference so everyone could see what's really going on. Auberger continually stumbled over his words as he read his prepared statement. Why such a tough time sticking to the script John? Does the lying suddenly get on your nerves? And Loszynski seemed at a loss for words when he had to respond to the tough questions. Too bad the guy from channel 10 didn't really nail him on the timing issue and Labor Day deadline announced in August. I think Joe might have cried!

To 7:13PM ~~ You're right about no video. There wasn't even a live feed this time! Yup, Uncle Auggie seemed to have a lot of trouble reading his statement. I wonder why ... ?

I was trying to inject a note of humor by suggesting that Joe could possibly be chief.

Most law enforcement officers of his age are wellllll beyond active duty and long since retired.

To 7:37PM ~~ It's not easy to recognize humor, sarcasm etc. on here without giving the clueless something to go on :)

all the media care about is the pre written script
THe evil chief is out the new chief is in everything is back to normal. Go back to accepting and deferring to authority

Auberger's only waiting two weeks on getting applications because he has ALREADY CHOSEN HIS NEW CHIEF. It's as simple as that. Don't expect any surprises, people. You've already heard the name.
