We Won't Dredge Braddocks BUT We'll Fund A HUGE Bandstand??

Check Out The Rotary Club's Plan for Greece Town Hall Campus

Will this be the John T. Auberger Polka Palace, paid for with tax $$ ??

WHERE would he be without the senior citizens of Greece?

That looks more like a UFO than a bandstand. Only in Greece!

SCATS, my neighbor is in Rotary and says this plan has been cancelled. It died earlier this year.

cue bubbles, cue music
And ah-one and ah-two

This would be a real laugh if it wasn't so bizarre

To 9:31AM ~~ You called your neighbor this AM to find that out? I can find no reference to it being scrapped. I do however see the following interesting tidbit noted on their website from their Sept. newsletter:
"Roger Boily - 9 years ago when he was town supervisor, he brought chief of police up on charges; fined $2.00 for not winning the case."

Bizarre, hysterical, pathetic, depressing, an abomination.....
The worst part is that anyone ever contemplated this project!!!!! Where are the heads of the powers that be inthis town??? Oh yeah. Up their backsides!!!!!!!

In the bigger picture, the idea of this project shows complete arrogance and disrespect to taxpayers in Greece. $350,000 for a silly project like this without asking the community if we want it shows that very well. Where did the money Robach procured go if this project got axed? Is that why he had his pic taken handing out dictionaries? They bought dictionaries with money for a bandstand? Someone please tell me I'm wrong!

11:53 - I'm assuming as is the case with any project, if the proposal isn't happening the money wouldn't have been formally accessed. Federal money for Ren Square wasn't formally accessed so it never left whatever pool it came out of. Kinda layman's terms but you get the picture.

SCATS, as you've suggested in the past, contact one of the members. All of their names are listed on their site. Someone here must know someone in the club.

I still don't think spending town money on a dredge or for it's operation is a good idea. Let Louise Slaughter kick some of her high speed rail money towards it since it's really a federal issue.

There's BILLIONS being asked for for that.

To 2:18PM ~~ So the idea that the town was EVER onboard to expend $350,000 on a bandstand at Town Hall was OK with you, but dredging a LOCAL channel for boaters is too costly? I think people like you have your priorities out-of-order!

As I said before, Auberger spends plenty of money moving around his circus tent to give "free lunches" (CATERED too), concerts and other "services" to promote himself. I'll bet that we could save enough money to buy the dredge if we could get the town's politicos to stop getting OT pay for attending events they weren't even invited to. When former Lt. Steven Wise talked to the Northgate Neighbors group, did we really need at least three other GPD officers, Auberger, Gary Tajkowski (sp?), Jeff McCann and others to watch over the presentation? Since they didn't do much except shake hands with everyone, I think not.

Yeah, but according to Jeremy, Northgate Neighbors have 40,000,000,000,000 members. So it was worth it for the exposure.
