It appears that the kidnapping and sexual assault of the woman leaving her salon in Brighton/Henrietta was at 1225 Jefferson Rd at Frontier Commons plaza. The news did not say which plaza it was; you could only figure it out from the video on television. Dangerous to be out at night in any part of the city or suburbs. Luckily the 2 monsters are in jail and should stay there.

To 11:42PM ~~ When I heard that on the news I kept wondering if it was like the spa on Ridge Rd where they tried to hold up the employees as they left ... scary.

I just read a comment on Craig's List that says it was in Saginaw Plaza, next door to the Dining Furniture Center.

On channel 10 the background of the reporter was "the ski Company" and later "bryant and stratton"
Even though they have changed their name the address for both of those businesses is 1225 Jefferson which is near Sutherland. It is called Frontier Commons when you look it up online.
Would they be reporting from a different location than where the attack took place. Strange that they did not say which plaza. There are so many in Henrietta.

Getting back to the posted subject.
Scats; where did the $100,000 figure come from?

To 7:08AM ~~ A couple of years ago, the Transportation Committee was able to "save us" several hundred thousand (I think it was around $800,000, if memory serves me) by consolidating bus stops. If that much can be saved from consolidating stops, I'm sure at least a few hundred thousand will be saved by eliminating making schoolbuses into "mom vans."

To 12:30AM ~~ In other news stories from Henrietta in the past, they also didn't mention the exact locations of certain crimes. I suppose there is a fear the businesses in the particular plaza will end up suffering as a result.

Scats; without ANY reservations I can tell you the $100,000 you alluded to is but a drop in the bucket associated with the bussing costs for 'open enrollment'

My biggest problem other than costs was and continues to be 'show us the educational value' which of course has never been able to do.

So the bottom line is (just like parts of contracts) we continue to pi## $$$$ away with nothing to show for it.

The worst part? The board sits there and does nothing about it. The taxpayers have every right to be upset.

To Charlie Hubbard ~~ Actually, I know it's HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of DOLLARS ;)

In addition to what Mr. Hubbard mentioned concerning the lack of ANY action from the BOE on this matter, what about the GTA? If I was a union figure head I would be banging a friggin' drum about this wasteful spending. The end result, as far as the union is concerned, is less staff can afford to be hired/employed, along with less money come raise time. I still question why the GTA refuses to broach this issue come contract time. It would seem to me to be a no brainer. Unless, of course, it's membership's kids ALL win the lottery...
