Military Training Planned 3 Months Ago; Auberger Family Attends

The D&C reports: " ... three months ago, they started working with Greece to set up the training exercise. The battalion hasn't had a training exercise such as this since 2004."

"John Auberger, who is the son of the town supervisor, was out with his son Jack, 5, and daughter Alyson, 2."

"He (Jack) just saw the G.I. Joe movie, so he is really into this right now,'' Auberger said. "This was the talk of the ride home from school yesterday. He couldn't wait."

SCATS ~~ So let me get this straight. Auberger's 5 yr. old grandson planned for this BEFORE the rest of us were told? I guess that tells us where we stand in the running of the Town of Greece.

No SCATS, you're wrong and are spreading misinformation. Why? Read the article again, slower if you need to. The article says he was talking about it on Friday. That's one day before the event. One day. People in the community knew about it before Saturday too. Exactly how far will you go to help Maloney out? Just spreading lies? Or further than that?

To 11:25AM ~~ The grandson was talking about it on his ride home from school. Five year olds don't usually stay late. So that was BEFORE Berkeley Brean reported on it at 5:30PM ... but nice try ;)

What a cheap media stunt Auberger! Just like Nick Joseph and Gary Pignato, you only get defensive and crotchety when you get caught!

I love this comment on the D&C:

Damn, it was just a training exercise. I hoped they were going to take over the Greece town hall and the police dept. Thought for a second somebody got mad enough to do something about it.

Perhaps that's what all the cheering was about!

he could have been coming home from daycare. or just because news10 reported at 5:30 doesn't mean that is when everyone found out. someone here posted they got a letter a week in advance.

Yeah, that's it - daycare. And it's also an accident that ME-Gan McDermutt from the D&C interviewed THEM.

NOT!

To 1:09PM ~~ Had you bothered to read the previous BLOG & Berkeley Brean's coverage you would know that a SELECT FEW people who live in the immediate area appeared to have been notified. Brean stated:
"We're not sure there's a lot of people that know about this ..."

So far, only one or two who knew BEFORE IT HAPPENED have bothered to say so here. It's very safe to say that MOST GREECE RESIDENTS DID NOT KNOW. That's unbelievable since this happened right after the 9/11 commemorations.

It shows everyone that most Greece residents aren't on the radar of John Auberger.

To 1:15PM ~~ She was not the person who did the interview I cited on the BLOG. It was Mitch Pritchard.

I took a little afternoon ride up to Town Hall to see the damage done. One tree is definitely a goner, though it is still standing. It's had some limbs torn right down its side. It should be cut down before it becomes diseased and causes something to spread to the other trees. I don't know if there were more trees damaged or not. I could only see so much from my car.

I also saw an area of construction on the south end of the building where there's a pile of course gravel. If that's what the copters blew around, it had to cause some major damage! Those chunks are large and jagged. Thank goodness no one got hurt!
