Eight Water Main Breaks So Far This Year

The Monroe County Water Authority says the Dewey Ave/Denise Rd area is where they've been running much higher water pressure at night in an attempt to save on energy costs. Now, they plan to run the water at a lower pressure to keep breaks from happening. They also say that they will decide whether to raise, maintain or cut water rates sometime in the next few weeks.

"We'll be keeping an eye on it. We think when we lower the pressure, that problem will go away." ~~ Ed Marianetti, Monroe County Water Authority.

SCATS ~~ So, by lowering the pressure in the pipes they will potentially raise the pressure on my wallet!? YIKES!!

Their just waiting until the Dewey Ave. repaving project is done. Theres nothing like tearing up fresh asphalt to repair the water lines.Should'nt the pipes be fixed first? Makes you wonder who makes the decisions on this stuff.

Ed Marianetti? The same guy who is the head of the DPW since Santangelo ran off in the middle of the night, and the same guy who now heads the Greece GOP.

Yeah, we can trust him.

He must really be high up on the Maggie Loves Me List to get a job at the MCWA and the Greece DPW and the Greece GOP Chair.
