The Citizen's Police Academy Picnic's Mystery Guest Was ...

Sgt. Mark Concordia, currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division of GPD. He's spent 9 yrs. with the FBI and has trained with the Dept. of Justice and CIA in the field of counter-terrorism. He recently returned to Greece.

Sadly, no one won the prize for a correct guess as to the guest speaker's identity.

Ray Levato might have a story on Ch 10 news tonight, as I'm told he visited with a news crew.

If this guy ends up as chief, THEN does someone win?

TO LRB ~~ Maybe I could declare myself the winner then since my guess was that the new chief might be named ... mmmm ... catnip! :)

Damn, I know all of us were sooo looking forward to trash this event.

To 8:43AM ~~ I hear it got "trashed" by a heckler and his posse who shouted out during the event. Don't worry. They got boo'd by the senior citizens who yelled to "sit down and shut up!"

Who did they send to "shake things up" at the picnic. LOL!!!

To 11:08AM ~~ Since the person is a private citizen at this stage, I'm not going to identify him/her.

The guy with the mouth wasn't just shouted down by the old folks, he was put down by Auberger in front of a sizable group of picnickers a few minutes later. Someone asked Jack about the heckler. Jack said something like "That's just how THOSE people behave. What do you expect from THEM?" I used caps to show how Jack emphasized the words.

To 12:36PM ~~ I never thought I'd see the day come, but I kind of have to agree with Auberger on this one. There's a time and place for everything. This was neither. It was just one person among a small group that travels together. No one supported the lone shouter, not even his companions.

If the heckler is involved with Dan Maloney's campaign that makes them a willing participant. If he/she is going to try to turn a picnic into political theatre, they're injecting themselves into the campaign and it should be mentioned who it is, unless they have something to hide.

This isn't "outing them," the person outed themself when they tried to disrupt the event.

Look at 8:43's comment: "Damn, I know all of us were sooo looking forward to trash this event."

What the heck is that supposed to mean? If someone (people) from Maloney's campaign attended this event with the intent of disrupting it, that's pretty crappy. Members of his campaign team would not do this without approval of or at the direction of the candidate, in this case, Maloney.

This is low-level dirty politics plain and simple. Did they bring the giant rat?

To 1:48PM ~~ You are jumping to a lot of conclusions. How about if we take a long walk on a short pier so you have an appropriate place to do your jumping? ;)

THERE IS NO REASON I'VE SEEN TO SUSPECT THIS PERSON WAS "PART OF MALONEY'S CAMPAIGN TEAM." Now if you want to talk about it in terms of this person being a party to another BLOGGER's contingent at the event, that's a completely different and true story.

Blog Adminstration rejected publishing one post for naming names after I said I wouldn't be doing that.

To the author (aka "Uncle Rico" (sounds like a thug)) ~~ I can't be a "buddy" to someone I've never met. I'll bet you had no problem with Joe Wilson's behavior though when he shouted at Obama, now did you? ;)

In the future, comments that sound like the vitriole spewed on Monroe Rising will be summarily REJECTED for publication by SCATS. Get the message?

Stumping for Obama now? SCTAs, you've really done an about-face.

To 12:25PM ~~ Try putting down "the sauce" and you might notice it's too late to stump for him.
