Geez.........while i want to say this person is innocent until proven guilty, it sure is interesting that these stories are making it to the press. I think if it were not for the suspension of the top brass from GPD, this and other stories regarding the district and town would never see the light of day. The reports would have been shredded.

To 4:33PM ~~ It still took from July 31st to Aug. 4th to get this story out ;)

But at least they are getting out. Once someone is in charge again the gag orders will be back in effect.

Hey, he's innocent till proven guilty.
He was a member in good standing of the Teacher's Union.
All his students liked him, 1 a LITTLE TOO MUCH.
It isn't his fault.
He was set up, she looked older.
He kept his lawn looking nice.
On the other hand,
He has 35 years in the District and is still collecting a paycheck because that can't be stopped until he is convicted or retires.

Will the Union provide him with a lawyer? Will the taxpayers pay for his lawyer through some clause in the Contract?

I think there is something in the town drinking water.

Every organization and profession has its share of bad apples. Teachers are no different than any other group. So how about getting off of your pedestal and quit whining about how under appreciated and overworked and underpaid you are. Us common people get it, teachers are not any different than anyone else they just like to think so.

There's no way the teachers union will defend this guy, will they? We better not end up paying for his defense. I can't believe GTA nominated him for an award. Obviously they didn't know he was a sex offender but didn't anyone have any sense that he was at least creepy? Probably should have done a better job screening him.

To 12:30AM ~~ If the incident didn't occur at school, and I have no reason to believe it did, the union owes him nothing. He violated the law on his own clock, not the district's. As for saying: "Obviously they didn't know he was a sex offender but didn't anyone have any sense that he was at least creepy?" ... How do we know what the union did or did not know? In my mind, I don't believe the union would have interceded had they known. There's no track record to show me that GTA is ever proactive in their actions regarding students or anyone other than those who support their overall political agenda. I know I may be judging the book by its cover, but I get the "sense he is creepy" just from looking at the guy's picture!

Did he get the golden apple award?

My child was in his class a few years ago. He didn't seem "creepy". He seemed like a competent teacher. I am certainly surprised by these acusations and hope that justice is served by getting to the truth, whatever that may be. His picture does look pretty bad, though. But, I am not surprised that he was nominated for the Golden Apple award. He was a good teacher.
