What in the world was the school distinct and the towns thinking when they planned this conspiracy.
The conspiracy is still going on.
Soon that one million dollars in franchise fees will go straight in to Auberger;s pocket

Joe had some very interesting documents.

Question for Joe:

Why were these guys trying to dissolve the edu-cable corporation. What was involved with that?

I don't think it would be too great a stretch to assume that they, Walts and the Town Board, had hoped to get entire control over what the taxpayers could see. If they controlled access to the public tv, they could edit out or put in anything they chose. We know for a fact, that they tried to do that with the Channel 12 tapes on several occasions.

To 10:56AM ~~ 11:16AM is correct. It's all about controling what the public gets to hear. They can edit out anyone who "complains." ;)

To 11:16AM ~~ Don't forget the infamous missing portion at the end of a BOE meeting tape where BOE Prez. Julia had just told everyone to "get out and vote yes on the budget on Tuesday" ~~ An illegal suggestion on her part and no one on the BOE admonished her for it that night. ;) That portion of the tape was missing when GCSD delivered it for replay.

The town brd already voted to let TW take over and without discussion. At least no public discussion.

Saw Joe Last night

Good job.

WE need to keep public access on the air to keep our politicians honest.

How would it be legal for the towns and the school district to close educable?

That seems wrong

Government especially the likes of those we have in Greece Government today have no business to become involved in public access TV.
During a previous town administration the then Chief of Police playing his politics tried to have a town board that he controlled take over the Channel 12The then Town Supervisor gained enough support to block it. This town supervisor wants it so that he can control it like everything else.

To 11:45AM ~~ 8/27/2009 4:13 PM is correct. They already voted. They can't shut down Edu-Cable per se. They hope to get their services elsewhere (TW) which will essentially put Edu-Cable out of business, if everyone follows along. I wonder if they can sue based on the seemingly illegal decision the Greece Town Brd made ... anyone know?

I'm not old enough to remember that and was not aware of that. Could you provide a few more details of this earlier takeover attempt?

Would that police chief be Jerry Phalen?
