Wise is not on that list! Put him on SCATS! Augie doesn't want him on it - but he's ON IT!

To 5:49PM ~~ Excellent catch! I'll add him ASAP ;)

Don't forget Jim Leary too!

To 6:24PM ~~ Are you joking!?

Hopefully I'm not too dense but exactly what is their connection to Rahn and how does that connection justify dismissal?

To 7:11PM ~~ A very good question. It looks like someone wants to drag their names through the same dirt ... but why??

Not joking - Leary is gone too,

To 8:32PM ~~ I'm truly shocked in hearing about Leary.

I heard Leary was out on "sick" leave. But I would not be suprised to find him gone too.

Jim Leary always opening his mouth when he shouldn't be. He's one officer who has some insecurity issues because he never got promoted. He hates the fact that he is no longer the official spokesperson for the department.

To 5:15AM ~~ I heard that too ... now I'm hearing he took sick leave and will be "retiring."

To 8:42AM ~~ I'm not sure what you are talking about since he went from Animal Control Officer ("dog catcher") to police officer.

Great promotion--from animal control officer to police officer. WOW. Leary always had a big mouth. There's more to the story.

To 10:56AM ~~ Personally, I like Jim, but I can't say I know him all that well. Since you seem to know so much, why hold back on the "story"?

You've got it ALL wrong. O'Coyne was the dog warden who worked himself up the political ladder and is now in code eforcement.

Jim Leary is and has been out on sick leave for some time. He may be retiring soon by ONLY because there is a serious illness in his family that he needs to be home.

Once again, you're mixing all the bad command officers with the regular guys and that is the problem with morale in the department.

This is a terrible disgrace to tear down the name of a fine police officer, just to defer attention from the really bad ones. It's obvious this person knew nothing about which they spoke as Jim Leary was never the "dog warden."

To 11:16AM ~~ I think you might have overlooked Leary in the Animal Control position. I'm not sure if he was there all that long. I think the bigger picture here is that GPD is losing yet another officer. How few do we have now? If there were 78 when this began, we've got to be down at least 10 now. Are we really safe with so few on duty? I think that's the bigger question.

To l0:56 "Great promotion from Animal Control officer to police officer. WOW"

I say wow, indeed, because he has been a police officer for more than 20 years and I know that 20 years ago, all new police officers came off a Civil Service List. You had to take a written and physical test and be at the top of the list in order to be appointed to the GPD. WOW!

Today, all you need is to know someone who knows John Auberger,or Maggie Brooks, or someone in the Republican Party, regardless of your past, or you must be in your 40's, ready to retire and need to up your pay grade so that you can go out at a higher pension. That's why we are getting the caliber of officers like Joseph and Pignato.

If they stuck to the Civil Service Route as they did then, we would have no problem.

Given the current state of affairs inside GPD, it occurs to me that "having a big mouth" would make him an asset to the community ;)
