Email Raises Questions ...

Upon returning to Rochester from a trip out of state, a friend of SCATS asked me about posting two different topics.

1 ~~ Why hasn't Greece stepped up to offer a home for RBTL's new theater, The Phoenix Project? This does seem like an opportunity missed!

2 ~~ What if the newspaper were to print, periodically, the parents' names, addresses, dates and lengths of time for all their children who were truant from school? This idea came from reading just such a list in a newspaper in Pennsylvania. It's kind of like reading the names of those picked up for DWI or for using the services of a prostitute.

Completely unrelated but had to share.
Has anyone watched the new show Verminators about the exterminators ....very educational. Apparently properties that are not looked after can have pests such as rats and pigeons. Happened to be at northgate today and saw some of the same conditions with disintegration of overhangs etc as on the show. And lots of pigeons.
Pigeons carry all sorts of disease when they take up housekeeping...mites and such. These mites and disintegrating facal matter from the birds can cause among other things histoplasmosis. According to the program. So I would think again before you shop in any of the stores or eat anywhere there. Mcdonalds might look a little better on the outside but the birds are on the roof and their effect is pervasive.
Maybe the town will make them clean it up. The property owner on the show for a colonial house had to pay about 4 grand for the elimination of the pigeons and the cleanup. Yuck!

I heard that the whole basement of the old McCurdy's is rat infested...

I hope they have big nets when demo begins....either that or a Pied Piper.

When the demo begins the homeless rats and cockroaches and pigeons will quickly relocate. There are no provisions in the building code when a demolition permit is purchased to make sure pests do not relocate. Neighbors and Wegmans beware.

Greece probably has not stepped up to offer a home to RBTL's new theater because everyone is to busy.
By last account our Town Supervisor is busy making sure that his self apppointed investigators keep pointing the finger at all of the police officers so that the finger is not pointed at him (where it should). Town council members cannot suggest anything because they are a rubber stamp for the supervisor.
The Chamber of Commerce that should be aggressively looking for revenue generating business to come into the town is to busy playing politics with the town superviosr, offering some crazy training seminar on how to be a community politican. Excuse me I meant to say a community leader.

Maybe the developers can hire the Town superviser for the position of Pied Piper so that he can lead all of the rats out of town.
