So there is a new building that houses regular businesses by day and turns into the birdcage and studio 54 by night.Let's guess where it is.

I'm first....how about the office complex at the corner of Ridge and Latona. That is very stylishly decorated.

My guess is that new office bldg on the corner of Janes Rd and Long Pond. It's not far from PD headquarters too.

What goes on at the Barnard Athletic Club after dark?

Wow- your poll shows an increase of only 1 for Auberger-from 26 to 27 from 2 days ago..

and an increase from 35 to 73 for Maloney..:D (I've been tracking it).

SCATS said...

To 12:44AM ~~ I guess Auberger/Rahn helped that along just a bit with the headlines Monday & Tuesday ;)

Anonymous said...

Nah, Maloney's spammers just have more time on their hands.

SCATS said...

To 10:29AM ~~ Oh puh-leeze! No one tries to spam on here more than the folks at MR which is one reason why Comment Moderation is in use more ;) If only they would stop their name-calling.

It appears that someone has promoted this poll on other media websites. I suspect that may have helped too.

The Republicans are desperately grasping for straws after what's happened this week. Their ship is sinking, but the orchestra (mouthpieces) keeps on. Auberger has gone to reading scripted statements. Even at that he can barely get them out without stumbling over his words. Did his nose grow during that press conference ?

Just for fun, I wrote to the person who posted that ad and asked them for the address and contact info for this new "business." I'll post any response if I get one ;)

I'll save you the time waiting SCATS. You're not going to get a response. After reading the person's report, it seemed fishy that they would leave out so much information but made it just sound realistic enough so that you'd assume it was a real place.

There's no posting on craigslist this person references which supposedly had a number to call, a name of the propieter, etc.

I think you were duped by whomever forwarded this to you, unless you found it yourself.

I'm more apt to believe this came from someone more interested in spreading negative rumors about our town. It makes no sense.

I'd guess they don't even live here. Who'd stand to benefit from spreading garbage like this?

@10:58

I thought we weren't supposed to make assumptions about who people commenting here are/are not affiliated with?

Nice double standard.

More town employee participation? Just a guess...

Did they sell the expensive sewer camera systems that disappeared from the Town trucks on Craig's List?

To 1:07PM ~~ If you are a regular "reader" of craigslist, then you probably realize that many postings get flagged off (deleted) from that site by others. Having a posting deleted doesn't necessarily mean it was inappropriate or untrue either. I've had ads removed for no apparent reason at all when I was trying to sell furniture on there. I looked for the Aug. 8th posting & couldn't locate it which is what prompted me to ask the person who posted about the nudist club. I do not think the posting is fake, because I happen to know someone who partakes of some of the alternative nudist lifestyle who commented that the details given sound very much like a similar club near Buffalo. Time will tell ...

Anonymous said...

What details? That there's wine and pastries? You're kidding right?

Are you trying to imply that there are locations in this community that sell wine AND pastries together?

They need to be shut down immediately! ;)

I read craigslist posts where people use the foulest language you've ever heard (seen), disgusting photos and worse.

But Craigslist picked someone listing a place for adults to go for evening entertainment to delete?

Highly doubt it. But we'll see what that person responds with. I'm sure it will be very factual and detailed and clear up any confusion. I'll check back to see if you received anything.

SCATS said...

To 1:21PM ~~ You misunderstood. ANYONE CAN FLAG someone's posting on there and it will get deleted. When my furniture listing got deleted, craigslist automatically elailed me with some message about how even proper postings can/do get deleted and invited me to repost if I thought it had been deleted "in error."

Since the event was held Aug. 8th, it's possible the person who originally posted it deleted it AFTER it happened. That would be the right thing to do actually. It's kind of like taking down those garage sale signs after the sale ends. Craigslist encourages people to remove ads that are no longer valid. So we will see if I get a response. It could be interesting :D

It said it was posted under rants and raves so I'm assuming it wasn't an ad. those seem to stay up forever.

SCATS said...

To 1:46PM ~~ The category on there really doesn't matter. People tend to ignore those kinds of details. Craigslist sends out the same automated email/messages regardless.

SCATS said...

Another blogger suggested by email that the address is 1 Vince Toffany Blvd! LOL LOL LOL !!!!

Did you know about the tunnel system under town hall SCATS? It leads to a cave where Auberger is holding Rahn captive.

This is not a false claim.

There's proof.

SCATS said...

To 2:08PM ~~ WHO TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT?? Now the secret is out!

Anonymous said...

SCATS can you find out if they have sex toys at these parties?

SCATS said...

To 2:14PM ~~ I'm told that nudist gatherings are NOT for the purposes of engaging in sex.

Anonymous said...

well then what's the point of everyone getting naked!

SCATS said...

To 4:11PM ~~ To air out maybe? LOL

Well, I got my email response to my inquiry about the craigslist posting. Here is what it said (ph. number edited):

Dear Sir or Madam,

Absolutely love your email address and thank you for responding to our posting. Our contact information is as follows:
You may contact us any-time between 9am and 9pm at 489-xxxx to discuss any and all details. We thank you again for your interest and look forward to speaking with you soon.

Now, I feel embarassed about my email addy :(

Instead of calling the number, I googled it. INTERESTING INFO! As they say, curiosity killed the cat :D

That ph. # was used on ads for a new "yoga studio" at 3000 Mt Read Blvd. It also took me to another craigslist ad which I'm posting here:

8/29: alternative lifestyles private club (greece ny)

Date: 2009-08-11, 8:42PM EDT

There is a brand new state-of-the-art alternate lifestyles club now taking memberships for Gay, Straight, Lesbian, and families who practice nudism. We teach Yoga, dance and other great activities. Fun for everyone. We also hold weekend Meet & Greet socials for all who are over 21. The finest pastry chefs and some of New York's greatest wineries will be showcased at these events. Bring a partner for our nude yoga or come alone to meet someone if you wish on our theme nights. Rochester has never before seen such a unique experience and never will again. The owner is an out of the box thinker and does it all over the top. An awesome nude adventure with or without the family. We are a family friendly club and extremely guarded about our members and their privacy. Rochester does not have anything quite like this. With it's totally free and beautiful surrounding in a safe office complex in Greece, it goes virtually unnoticed but yet is a true gem. You will love your pampering at the club, because we insist on it. From the fine wines to the amazing pastries that are to "die for", as well as the full chair or body massages that are offered by a licensed therapist. We give it to you because you deserve it. No one does what we do for the alternate lifestyle community in the sense that most shun gay or lesbian simply due to the stigma attached to this kind of living. We believe otherwise. So please call us today as availability is limited. As of our first posting last week, we received over 120 calls and e-mails, and now we are down to less than 65 memberships left for this session. Please feel free to inquire about rates and memberships @ 585-489-8687, between 9 am- 10 pm, 7 days a week. We promise you an unforgettable experience that you will tell your friends about with pride. "A class act", is how we have been recently noted on the Rants and Raves section of craigs list and we are proud of it. Hope to see you all very soon. Thank you Rochester!

Geeze! Is this legal? Where's a cop when you need one?

They are all in jail or retired.....

SCATS, ya gotta dig deeper before you start dialing 911.

The number is for a cell phone not from a landline phone at this location. There's better search techniques out there than just google.

Also, I've been to this location. There's a realty business there I've used. There's no way this place transforms into a nudy/yoga/wine & pastry party palace at night. It's not physically possible.

That and I'm pretty sure someone would think it odd to see pastry trucks and wine distributors making deliveries to an office complex.

Oddly, the supposed "attendee" appears to be the proprietor of this establishment. Read his post again after he attended the party and then read their advertisement. Just about verbatim.

I think you got sent on a wild goose chase. Hopefully this post didn't harm the legit businesses located there because now people think it's a shady area. And look at these other commenters accusing other businesses of housing this type of place. It's out of control.

To 5:48PM ~~ I think you may have dug too deep and ended up at the bottom of the septic system. What difference does it make if it's a cell phone? NONE!

Google the number and find the ad for the yoga instructor. That's where the number gets associated with that address AND yoga ... BOTH. Then look at the ad on this thread one more time and note the part where it says : "We teach Yoga, dance and other great activities." Get the connection?
