A VERY Good Question ...

Anonymous said...
I wonder why the story of three "upstanding" youths jumping and beating the crap (lost at least 3 teeth) out of an unsuspecting peer on his bike in Wood Run hasn't hit the papers. I'm told the large gash down the outnumberd youth's face was left by a Greece Lightning ring worn by at least one of the upstanding children. You see, Steve II was wrong about Coach Webb, he's doing a wonderful job with his team! 7/07/2009 11:12 PM

Maybe Julia can bring those fine boys to her faith comittee meeting since she was the one that brought back that stellar coach of the year. 7/07/2009 11:24 PM

Just for the record, Coach Webb coaches the Greece Thunder, not the Greece Lightning. So maybe 11:12pm may want to clarify where they heard this rumor from and get his/her facts straight before throwing a good coach under the bus. The only thing Webb was guilty of was having a parent who didn't like him or his coaching style, try to take him out of the equation so her son could have more playing time.

Does this mean that the kids on Thunder are more upstanding than the kids on Lightning?

Only thing he was guilty of ???? Come on besides having total disregard for the Code of Conduct he agreed to abide by and hold his own players up to, by drinking ? Good coach maybe, good judge of character or a role model , no. Maybe he should have won the "Do as I say Not as I do Award" instead of coach of the year.

It just goes to show parenting is a lost art in the Town of Greece.

It just goes to show parenting is as much of a lost art in Athena and Arcadia schools as it is near Olympia and in the Town of Greece as a whole.

I agree about the parenting thing. It is amazing to me how many parents are drinking with their 18 year old children and their friends, and then their kids post these photos on Facebook for all to see. It is a damn shame.

If you think drinking is a problem, check out the kids who live on Barnard Street, smoking and dealing drugs along with their parents.

I guess the truth is a lost art also.

I can't believe you guys are dumping on parents "in the town of Greece as a whole."

Aren't these the same people you want to get votes from? What's the strategy?

Re: Aren't these the same people you want to get votes from? What's the strategy?

What are you talking about? Do you really think the tuned -out, drugged-out trailer trash we're talking about are registered and vote? lol

Anonymous said...

Everyone knows there is no trash in Greece. Just upstanding God fearing citizens

Does it say Greece Lightning hockey? If I'm not mistaken, there are other sports teams that use Greece Lightning as their name.

Anonymous said...

You ARE mistaken.

What is the name of the Arcadia/Olympia lacrosse team?

Limp Sticks?

Where is the police report on this? How can you publish something accusing people of crimes with no proof?

Disgusting.

The Greece police reports to media leave a lot to the imagination. If you have the right connections, your problems won't see the light of day. Just because it didn't make the paper doesn't mean it didn't happen.

wow, now you guys are calling greece voters drugged out trailer trash. seriously guys, stop now cuz this isn't helping your side's campaigns. the last thing you want is for all these comments to be used against your team this year.

Anonymous said...

11:39, MISTAKEN about what? The Lacrosse team goes by Lightning.

To 10:13PM ~~ I believe you misunderstood the comment someone posted about "trailer trash." They seemed to be saying that those folks aren't registered and do NOT vote.

For the record, I'm not fond of the use of that terminology and only left the comment because it really isn't directed at any particular person. It's rather generalized.

"Just because it didn't make the paper doesn't mean it didn't happen."

And just because an anonymous person said in a blog that it happened doesn't mean it did.

To 10:13 (John Auberger) Pullease...you're going to try to paint yourself as an upstanding leader? Let's open the books on your hiring practices, and what you do behind closed doors at the County Office Building.

When Rahn gets his "public" hearing, I'm sure we'll see what you really look like without your mask of feathers and gold.

As far as who I'll vote for - it sure won't be you. You had your chance and blew it. No amount of so called independent investigators can convince me that you were not the real reason why Pignato and Joseph were hired. You can try to paint yourself out of the box, but the trail you have left points directly to YOU.

Enjoy the time you have left, and your trying to put fear into the citizens of Greece doesn't work. When children see "authority" go so corrupt as yours have, it really doesn't set a good example for anyone, wouldn't you agree?

You took what we thought we had, and you destroyed it for personal gain and favor. That will not be forgiven. I don't know about your God, but mine doesn't like drug addicts who smash their cars into pregnant women, or force women to have sex with them to avoid arrest, or who lie, cheat and steal the taxpayers money - all under the watch of the Wizard of Oz himself, John Auberger.

Go find a private place to lick your wounds.

To 8:58AM ~~ Regarding: "And just because an anonymous person said in a blog that it happened doesn't mean it did."

True, however the track record of what gets reported on here has been pretty much "spot on" over the last 3.5 years ;) Incidents such as these are routinely NOT reported by the D&C/GPD's police reports. How do I know? I compare what I've personally witnessed in my own neighborhood to what gets written about. You'd be amazed at the numbers of incidents we're not told about. Even one of the D&C's own bloggers is aware of paper's omissions.

Anonymous said...

Next thing you'll be telling us is that all DWI arrests are not reported in the paper. Ya right.

@9:02 - wow, you Greece Democrat hacks are pretty malicious. Settle down there pal. You're gonna pop a vein.

PS - just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. ;)

SCATS said...

To 12:18PM ~~ Prove that ALL DWI arrests ARE reported :)

Better yet, prove that all who should be arrested after being stopped for DWI actually get arrested. In Greece, you'd have a tough time given our PD.
