Dem Candidates Want A "Clean Sweep"

"It was Auberger who brought in a couple of bad cops that started this whole ball rolling in the police department. It is from the leadership. The leadership of this town needs to go. That's the only way to clean it up." ~~ Dan Maloney, Greece Dem. for Supervisor

"That is a ridiculous assessment. Obviously, as I mentioned before, you need to have faith in your employees to give you truthful information. To say that is really a political statement by my opponent." ~~ John Auberger, Current Rep. Supervisor

Bring a REALLY BIG BROOM! HAHAHA! This was great!

Hey Auberger - You're the SUPERVISOR - it's your job to make sure your employees are doing THEIR jobs!

Management 101!

If this Dem slate is the best they have-then we're better off with what we have.

Moscato says Trowbridge was a very honest man-if there was a debate they wouldn't have a chance.

As for blaming Auberger-remember HMO did not improve graduation rates, teachers were arrested for inappropriate conduct or contact with students and they were all approved by the school board-now who do we blame?-or do we have to have trust in the people who do the investigating?

It must be pretty slow when Scats has to repeat a Doug Skeet posting to try and stir the pot and there are only a few comments.

7:30 - What are you talking about? Your comment makes no sense whatsoever. If there was a debate, I suppose you mean a political debate, Maloney would wipe Auberger off the map. We all know Auberger cannot speak until Jeff McCann writes for him and Katherine (I am him) speaks.

Auberger is making the whole police department scapegoats for his political mistakes and everyone is wise to him (except you). What has HMO got to do with Auberger. In case you didn't know, HMO was on the School Board, not the Town Board over which supposedly Auberger presides. Sorry, wrong again, the Superintendent is responsible for hiring teachers, he interviews them and is ultimately responsible, as is Auberger. The board only approves his recommendation, they never do the background checks on teachers. You are very far off base as, unfortunately, are so many ill-informed people who just don't get it and keep voting for the likes of Auberger and Boily, two men of the same rotten cloth.

Anonymous said...

Weren't some of the people that are on suspension hired by Boily? So it goes way back. Maybe to Riley?
There must have been an established workplace climate that allowed for graft and corruption. And having Rahn as the chief only covered a wound left there by the previous regime. What will the new plastic surgery succeed in doing?

Here's a lesson everyone in Greece gets:

CORRUPTION = AUBERGER

Anonymous said...

That was the dumbest display of political theatrics I've ever seen. Republicans need to stop playing nice with these guys. The greece Dems are gonna run a nasty, mudslinging campaign this year and the GOP needs to not let them get away with it. I'm sure if they look hard enough they'll find plenty of things to even the playing field.

I can't believe the press jumps every time Maloney holds some stupid press event.

I can't believe the press jumps every time Aubergers cronies get arrested!

I'm a fed-up Republican and plan to vote exclusively for the Dems this fall, but today's sweep event was way too corny.

Sort of like mirrors. Wonder where they got the idea??

Only thing missing was Kathryn "I am Him" Firkins riding in on her own broom! HA!

To the Dems ~~ If people are complaining about brooms & mirrors you must have hit a nerve. Congratulations :D

Auberger trips over his words because he can't say "assessment" and "truthful" in the same sentence!

Anonymous said...

OK, so it seems that the Greece Democrat Party does't like the town administration, Greece police officers, Greece schools, the Greece Chamber of Commerce, the Greece Rotary club, Greece churches, Greece fire fighters and they call our town a laughing stock. And yet they want control of the town. Sorry, don't think so.

Anonymous said...

"...you need to have faith in your employees to give you truthful information."
I thought Auberger said he had faith in Maggie Brooks and John Parrinello and that was why he hired the two loser cops. They told him to!

Too bad you only get one vote 9:32.

You want to see the mentality of Union politics drive by Northwood school and eyeball the 2 do1#s in the lawn chairs with their blow up rat complaining about nonunion workers on that job. Nice baloon fellows, are you actually Union craftsmen or are you RentAflunkeys like the union uses to picket Walmart.

I've read the positions of the Greece Democrat candidates, and there is only 1 who has any idea how government works. The rest must have gone to the Hopey McChange school of politics because they advocate change will solve everything. Get a clue boys & girls, Town Government is NOT Union politics.

Their Supervisor candidate even stold the Bobble Head Town Board line from a poster here. Hire your own writers Dan or pay royalties. Study up on NYS municipal law too.

How did those people become Dem candidates? Was there a wine tasting party at Dem Headquarters?
Greece can't afford Obama CHANGE!

Anonymous said...

At $3000+/day in investigation salaries, we can't afford the Rep status quo either.

Maloney must be doing a fantastic job. I haven't seen republican panties in such a wad in Greece in YEARS!

I must admit, this was worth the wait!

HEY 12:22 - Do the Town Government Employees (ALL UNION) know how much the TOWN BOARD HATES UNION WORKERS?

DOES THE NURSE WHO CARES FOR YOUR SICK MOTHER?

HOW ABOUT THE COPS?

YOU HATE THEM ALL? OR JUST 1 OF THEM THAT SCARES THE HELL OUT OF YOU?

I can't wait to vote this fall. I get to choose between Hamburger and Baloney. I know both are ground meat, but I relish a change! Will Hamburger "ketchup"? Or will Baloney get fried? I'll flip a patty before I decide!

Anonymous said...

9:32 - You are dead wrong, the Greece Democrats are all for the Greece PD, the Greece schools, the Greece fire fighters, the Chamber which does excellent things for the Town, as does the Rotary, Kiwanis, and all the Greece churches.

Their problems is with the corrupt politicians who have power in these organizations and are the ones making Greece the laughing stock of the County by one rotten scandal after another.

Proof of the pudding is the School Board which never was political until the Boily bunch came in and we all know that nothing good has happened since.

The hope of the Greece Democrats is to oust these jerks and run this Town with integrity so that once again Greece will be a Town its residents can be proud of.

Anonymous said...

When will Republicans voters wake up and understand that the whole Republican board at 1 Vince Tofany Blvd. doesn't respect you! According to the 2009 Town and County Tax Table, Greece residents/businesses pay the most in the entire county? Do you get what you deserve? I love seeing negative press about Greece in the news and having to pay for the lawsuits. It makes me feel great that I can pay $1,400 more per year than an equally assessed home in Pittsford Mendon. This is called Negative Equity and if you are not a math person it adds up to $42,000 over 30 years. Wait, are you saying that by living in Pittsford you can save $42,000 compared to Greece? Yes, and most likely turn a larger profit in resale of your home. Then why are people buying homes in Greece? Actually the population is dropping, but to answer the question-- I think people because see how cheap the homes are, but when you factor in the Republican Town Board taxes you are not getting a value for your home. You are becoming one of the 93,000 people who have been screwed by the current Republican board. Thank you Dem Candidates for finally giving me a choice on election day.

Thanks for your emotional prounion outburst. Gee, all caps, you're a Union member, aewn't you.

Can you enlighten me as to where there is a Union Nurse in the Rochester area other than the joke CSEU members working for the County? Comon, whip out your Union book of phrases to copy and let me know.

Unions exist to give unskilled labor a standing to bargain against the big bad employer, and fatten the wallet of the Union BOSS. Union workers support 2 bosses.

The City is under pure Democrat control and there is never a scandal of any level in the City.
BTW, while it's nice the Virgin slate of Democrats running in Greece with no knowledge of politics beyond the Union Hall supports everyone. Now go do some research and tell me what the hell Greece Town Government has to do with any Fire Department serving Greece.

Where the hell were all these wonderful candidates supporting the citizens and workers of Greece before the fecal matter hit the fan and they figured they could sweep in and take over. They really ought to hang onto that broom, it seems about the only thing most of them are qualified to operate!

Well I know for one (because it impacted ME) that Dan Maloney was the one who stopped the Town of Greece from robbing the properties of the residents of Stone Road when the town wanted to widen it (ANOTHER REALLY DUMB IDEA OF AUBERGERS) and take land from the people, and change the entire structure of the neighborhood. Can you imagine a 2 lane highway through there?

He got the signatures, did the work, stopped the ridiculous project, got the town instead to agree to improve the rotting infrastructure and put down new roads and sidewalks.

He wasn't afraid then to take on "city hall" and he's not afraid now. I for one am encouraging everyone I know to vote for REAL leadership. Had it not been for Dan, my yard would be smaller, a road would be extremely close to my front door, and my property values would have taken a severe hit.

Not only that, but I also knew his dad through Catholic Family Services. I think his dad was there for over 20 years. His father was the director, and like Dan, did so much for the community, not just Catholics, but the entire Monroe County, helping families in need.

They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and Dan Maloney is a good apple. I wish him all the luck this fall, and I encourage everyone to do what I did - go to Greece2009.com and click on his link and send him a check. I know that Auberger has tons of money, and helping Dan with a donation will help him level that playing field as well.

It OUR town - it's OUR choice. Please join me in supporting a fine man.

Last I checked, Stone Road is a County Highway, NOT a town road.

Like a lot of emotional Democrat supporters you probably don't realize that makes Stone Rd a 4 rod road. That translates in terms simple enough for Democrats to understand Stone Road right of way is already about 66 feet wide, 33 feet in each direction from the centerline. The County, not the Town of Greece makes any and all decisions on how wide the pavement on Stone Rd will be.

I know it's difficult for the Hopey McChange croud, but do try to keep your levels of Government seperate and in order.

Anonymous said...

Greece DPW workers being paid overtime to work the computers tonight?

Anonymous said...

It really doesn't matter if the road business is about the Town or the County - Maggie runs the whole show and we all know it. Johnny boy jumps at her command. They are all as crooked as the day is long, between the Assessors, Police Department, Robutrad, etc. when will people realize they've had enough. This has gone on for years and years and will continue unless someone steps in and the Dems are ready to do it.

Go on line to Greece2009.com and read about the candidates, their biographies and background, they far surpass anything sitting on the Town Board right now.

By the way, all you union bashers, all you former Kodak workers. If it were not for the unions and the hard earned benefits they got, Kodak workers would have had nothing. Kodak had to keep pace and offer the same benefits to their employees, just to keep the unions out and now look where it got all those loyal union bashing employees. Out of work.

7:54, that's a good one. I'd be more responsive to the spews here if all the commentors weren't members of the Greece Democratic Party. Really post how I can make a donation again, the first come times didn't get through.

Elect Dan Maloney and he'll provide more services for the poor in Greece (or at least that's what the goatee'd kid in aviators named Abraham said when he came to my door). When I asked him if that meant my taxes would go up, he looked at me in disbelief and couldn't respond for a bit until he finally he mumbled something about how logically, more services means more taxes but it'll help to take care of other people, so its really a good thing. You know how to pick those representatives.

To 10:17AM ~~ I can assure you that not everyone who posts here is a member of the Democratic party! In fact, why does that matter so much anyway? It's only ONE quality out of an entire personality to consider. To me, it's about as important as your astrological sign.

@HEY 12:22 - Do the Town Government Employees (ALL UNION) know how much the TOWN BOARD HATES UNION WORKERS?

Where did you read that this is true? You didn't. It's yet another lie spread by the local democrat party hacks working on Maloney's campaign.

As far as the rat at Northwood, while I haven't been by there, I think it's great that children get to see their school used as part of the grown up's tug-of-war battle. What an example you're setting. Don't blame the kids for acting out when they get older. They're learning it from you!

I know someone who retained all the propoganda sent home with the little darlings from a primary school in HCSD 2 years ago, 5.27 pounds of ptopoganda paper printed at taxpayer expense that had nothing to do with rducation.

Lets not forget the unions reps are getting paid by the taxpayers to do union business as part of the teacher contracts approved by your school board.
This is a cost to taxpayers of over $100,000 per year.

SCATS said...

To 9:16AM ~~ I fear you are correct :(

Charlie,

Being a former board member you need to be more specific and not make general statements. Union reps are not paid positions- building reps are people who are volunteers who devote their time outside of contractual hours to discuss important education issues that arise in their particular school. The school teachers vote on who their building reps are. These reps I speak of cost nothing like school board members. Actually, some school board members are very costly to Greece tax payers by their decisions.

I believe you wanted to say Union leaders cost 100,000. I would love for you to prove this claim.

Charlie why are you not crying about John Auberger's on-going investigation costing taxpayers well over 100,000 in a handful of weeks? What's that?

That's right you focus on the Greece Central Schools and say we are so costly. We are one of the cheapest @ $22.36 per thousand. You pay even less when you factor in your senior star exemption. Do you want to share your savings Charlie with the public. Look at the 2009 Tax Table. Charlie scroll up to Town and County Taxes and but your paper and pencil to work by adding the taxes. You will discover like I did Greece is the most expensive Town in the entire county by 26 cents per thousand.

Thanks John and Republicans Town Board for being fiscally irresponsible by giving them a Smart Goal. Reduce the taxes by November 3rd or be terminated by a group of Democrats who will!

SCATS said...

To 1:49PM ~~ Actually, the claim about the paid union person IS CORRECT and it is part of the GTA contract.

Regarding costs to keep GCSD in business, please remember that our enrollment continues to decline but our budget always increases. There are rarely any "savings" found. Instead of reducing staff, we seem to invent ways to hire more! Even reductions in class sizes didn't translate into any major gains in educational outcomes. We certainly don't get our $$'s worth.

Greece has a Top 100 Ranking for High School in the nation and cheap taxes. Sorry that's a value. Hello!!!!

SCATS said...

To 2:22PM ~~ We have ONE of FOUR high schools that is Top 100 this year (not every year). If you think our taxes are "cheap" then I suggest you put down the bathtub hooch and read a newspaper sometime! Our county is in the TOP TEN IN THE US for high property taxes!

Anonymous said...

Scats

All the High Schools teach the same curriculum so all schools are Top 100 in my book. Greece Schools are cheaper than most of the county beside districts like Rush, part of Kendall, and Henrietta. I agree with SCATS property taxes are too high, but this is directly attributed Republican Taxation and our current Town Board.

If your suggesting there is a relationship between 'cost and quality' then you are a fool - an uninformed fool.

To 1:49 (anonymous)
As far as taxes are concerned you haven't heard me talk about taxes.
If you were paying attention I always talk about SPENDING.
You ask to be specific and that is exactly what I have always done. Specifictly if you want to spend more of the taxpayers money? Show the benefit. In the case of the school district - show the educational benefit.
With that in mind please anyone show me the educational benefit to this release time and if you are challenging my figures (it's acually more) do your own homework, it's not that tough to figure out.
My point was and is some have complained about the cost of this investigation. As unfortunate as that may be some benefit it would appear will result.
My point also was before you bit#h about the town spending 'this'
money we should keep in mind your school district (and others) are pi##ing away over $100,000 of taxpayers money EVERY year.

While we are on this subject showing the benefit of spending is in the Comptrollers report from last year and the board (me included) voted to accept that report. I can assure you if the school board approves another contract that continues this type of taxpayer (disrespectfull) giveaway I will do all I can to make the taxpayers aware.

I have many faults - dishonesty and hypocracy are not included.

To 3:24PM ~~ Odyssey is the ONLY HS getting Top 100 ranking. They are the smallest of the four in Greece (about 100 or so per grade level), the students "win" entry, the staff makes concessions to the union contract to teach there (initially, ALL teachers were hand-picked by the Supt. himself!), and they have the IB program which I believe our other schools lack. Other than these "small" items, Odyssey is identical to ... oh, let's say Olympia HS ;)

Anonymous said...

Scats- That is false information. If you knew what you are talking about you would know that Top 100 Ranking is based on students enrolled in advanced placement programs and graduation rates. All this means is that somehow Odyssey is placing students in AP classes and graduating their students at a higher percentage. Hand-picking of teachers is false!
The other high schools have a true diversity of population which mirrors actual Greece population. The other schools do not have the IB program, but they do have more advanced foreign langauge choices and sports programs.

SCATS said...

To 11:32AM ~~ I assure you that I do know what I'm talking about and I am aware of the requirements to attain the Top 100 list. Every statement I made was absolutely true, except that the last was oozing sarcasm ;)

you would have to admit that talking to the goatee'd kid in aviators named Abraham was much more refreshing then talking to the trained politician. Wasn't it nice to hear someone respond from the heart rather than a from a political scripted.
As for your taxes the current administration is quick to tell us how they saved money by cutting jobs, but they fail to tell us the services that were lost due to these job cuts. Services to youth and seniors have been lost. So where is the savings? There are none because the current supervisor saw fit to creat his Department of Constituent Serivces Manned by political appointees who do nothing more than lick political envelops for the republican party to mail. Great use of our tax dollars. I would rather serve the poor of our community, which if this administration is allowed to continue on will include you and me.
