Are We Looking For A New Supt?

Is this the reason Achramovitch hasn't received a raise or any public comment by the BOE regarding his annual review (due in June each year)?

To Greece Central Community
Old fashion dirty politics mastered by the master politican Roger Boily has put his golfing buddy Tyings in as BOE Pres and the village xxxxx Smith in as BOE VP. As stated tonight Smith never even attend a single Greece high school graduation as a BOE member. This is in addition to sleeping at BOE meetings and looking at Roger to get the clue as to how to vote.
Smith as VP. Can you see him running a BOE meeting? Can you see him as Pres. of the BOE next year?
New BOE member and Hockey mom drops her friend Julia and teams up with Roger to make it a 5 to 4 for the Boily puppets of Tyings and Smith. It is another new low for Greece Central. While I did not agree with Julia on some items, as a first year BOE Pres. I have grown to respect her ability to bring some peace to the BOE, have students first, to be concerned about low test scores and low graduation rates, to get into the school buildings, while holding down a full-time job and to vote her mind without partisan politics.
It was been reported that Steve A. has submitted letters to leave the district by July 1, 2010 and maybe as soon as January 1, 2010. I am sure this was with Julia's concern to have an instructional superintendent instead of a Boily puppet. Now with Roger back running the district will Steve A can get his much desired contract extension to take him to 55 for his pension.
God help Greece Central again. The district was making progress toward inproving instruction. A new math program and a new superintendent was a good start. Now it is politics as usual.
Thank you Roger Boily.
Sincerely
Doug Skeet

if the board is sitting on this info that is malfeasance since as a district we have to start a search.

its a split backroom decision 5, 4 with boilys boobs wanting to keep steve

If the board members are meeting even by phone to come to decisions, that is in violation of the open meetings law. If there is a board member that knows this is going on let him speak publicly since it his disclosure is not a violation of an executive session since there was not a legal one convened. If there are board members that know this is going on and none of them comes forward they are all guilty of this violation of the open meetings law.
Mr. Skeet ( or anyone) could ask in a FOIL request for the minutes of the action taken at the board meeting ( be it via email or in person or phone or some other media) where the superintendent's contract was discussed. Either they would fulfill the request(unlikely) or have to give a reason why the request could not be filled. If the reason is that there was never a board discussion or vote and there was both then that document would be false and the staff member that wrote it would be supplying a false instrument.

Is Doug Skeet pretending that he supported the superintendent? All he ever does is take pot shots at the poor guy. And there have been many improvements that he could have - and should have- talked about!

To 4:09 p.m. What improvements? Name one. We have gone consistently downhill since A's arrival. He is almost worse than Walts. At least Walts was smart, he screwed the district, but he was smart about it.

Where have you been for the last several years, that you could say such a thing? Unbelievable!!!

BLOG Administration deleted the previous comment for its failure to mention any supporting evidence within the bitter remarks directed at a named individual.

To 4:09PM ~~ Many people supported the Supt's ONE correct decision only to have the Clown Posse overturn it. I believe Doug was included in that group, as was present company here ;)

Saying Steve A. is "almost worse" than Walts is complete foolishness. Regardless of what you personally think of Steve A, Walts was terrible. Any proof the district is worse now? Of course not. Sounds like you have more of a personal vendetta against Steve A.

SCATS, just curious. On the comment deletion, were you protecting Steve A. or Doug Skeet? I'm being sincerely curious here.

SCATS said...

To 11:42PM ~~ I'm not protecting anyone. I'm not fond of name-calling or bullying, as you should realize by now.

If we aren't looking for a new super we should be! Mediocrity is the best we'll ever get with the status quo, and even that level seems challenging to reach and retain. Steve is great at hiring consultants, but that's not what we should expect from our head guy. He's wasting money while he bides his time. Let's cut him loose ASAP!!

So why can Mr. Skeet take shots and name calling and it is posted? Lets be fair.I realize SCATS does run the Blog but what is fair for one is fair for all.

To 9:28AM ~~ Because we live in an imperfect world. And because I forgot to edit it out. Mea culpa. It's been edited now.

To Doug Skeet ~~ You've been naughty. Don't make me send you to see the Supt!

Skeet doesn't live in Greece, does he? Methinks he should spend his time foaming at the mouth about the City Schools.

SCATS said...

To 10:54AM ~~ He has the right to comment as does every other person. Even the BOE said so ;)

Would you limit a teacher's right to speak if he/she lived elsewhere but taught in Greece (as so many of them do!)?

11:42 p.m. - please remember I said "almost" worse. There has beeen NO improvement since Steve A's arrival - Greece is still at the bottom Monroe County and (pardon my pun), and that's the bottom line.

No one could be worse than Steve Walts, I agree, but Steve A. is a close second.

To 11:31AM You overlooked the fact that the hockey team won a Section V title ;)

SA has maintained the same executive administration that was groomed and coddled during the SW administration.

Why does one expect different results while applying the same resources?

I know Mr. Tydings and a puppet to know one he is not. I did not realize that Roger B. had so much power? Maybe it is not power but common sense and vision which seems hard to find among you na sayers.
Doug, as a principal in GCSD you had many flaws; we all do.
Instead of always beating the Board down how about giving it some breathing room and accent on some of the positives. they are there but you need to take the time to focus on them instead of the negative.
In fact if you are such an expert on everything why don't you though your resume in for a superintendent's job. I would be gald to take pot shots at you.

SCATS said...

To 12:04PM ~~ Please name THREE THINGS the BOE is responsible for that are "positive" and that came about in the last year. If it takes you more than an hour to come up with them, then maybe that's why you don't hear more support for the BOE ;)

Please don't hold your breath Scats - this board did NOTHING last year - NOTHING.
Lots of meetings - lots of commitees. What got done? NOTHING

To 5:44PM ~~ That was my point :)

3 things
1. most importantly we graduated students
2. revamped a new bus stop plan that saved money yet gave safe services to the students.
3. unleashed an audit that demonstrated mis-manage of the Waltz administration.
(2 minutes toppes and that is only because I am not a fast on the keyboard)

item 2, the super has made a mockory of this item by giving 'exception' to this one and that one. before long we will be right back where we were.

as far as 3 is concerned the credit for that should go to Joe Moscato.

SCATS said...

To 8:18AM ~~ So you think it's a positive thing that we graduated students, even if it might be just 80% of them ... even if we have to add summer school attendees in to get the 80% figure? I guess even ONE warm body crossing the stage should get rave reviews then, right?

The revamped bus stop plan was history almost as fast as it was instituted. The reason ~~ parents who whine to the BOE get bad press for GCSD so the "exceptions" are made. LOTS of exceptions in this case.

The audit is not something that happened in the current year. Either way, it should probably be credited to HMO and our interim Supt. Kehoe at the time. She got NYSED to move Greece up on their list so our audit was done earlier. Eventually, ALL districts will be audited anyway.

I'll give you a second shot. Just three things ;)

I find it interesting that the accomplishments of the boards work over the past year are bashed here yet SCATS and many that post here wanted to keep the board prez that led the charge during the year of "nothing getting done." By the way, I don't agree that nothing was done. Actually, by not being so overbearing and dictator-like, Steve gave breathing room to teachers to let them use their brains and the materials they have to provide good learning environments for our students. Scores are increasing, not in all areas, but it unfortunately will take many years to recover from the wreckage left by Steve Walts. Unfortunately, we have an entire block of teachers that Walts brought in that have no idea how to be flexible, assess student needs and then devise a plan to meet them. They only know the "Walts way" and that gave us kids that can't do basic math, read at their grade level and receive no consequences for awful behavior because he didn't want the suspension rates to be to high. We did however, get really nice entranceways for all our elementary buildings, an APAC that is falling down and a lottery school system that is corrupt and ripe for litigation. So, by all means lets ditch Steve A. and see if we can find someone worse!! Sometimes, you jump from the frying pan into the fire, and I am afraid that is what GCSD is about to do!

To 6:29PM ~~ I don't recall that I wanted to retain the Clown Posse Prez. There may have been some comments that I made where I stated that COMPARED TO ANOTHER, she would be preferable. I did not intend to mean that she was my top choice.

As far recovering from Walts goes, he's been gone quite awhile. It seems to me there would be a payoff by now. Alas, many of his top dogs still work here!
