Robach, Auberger and the Land Of Make Believe ...

On Friday May 15th, Joe Robach told a Greece community group: "At least we live in an area where things don't get swept under the rug."

Today, John Auberger responds to a recent editorial about the GPD by writing: "I found the recent column by Denise-Marie Santiago, which portrayed our entire police department as "anything but a place where residents can feel secure," as not only inaccurate but an insult to the department and the officers who are dedicated to serving our town."

SCATS ~~ As we can clearly see, despite ongoing scandals and corruption, Greece leadership's views remain as they always have. Whenever someone dares to state the truth to the public, "the powers that be" come forth to downplay it and make it into an "inaccurate" personal attack on themselves, thereby deflecting the focus from the actual issues. It's symptommatic of the dysfunction that plagues our town government, school district, police force and fire deptartment. By calling the obvious ails "inaccurate" Auberger hopes to silence his critic/s while getting away with portraying them as liars. Nice, huh?

Unfortunately Joe seems to be sipping from the same cup as the Greece town bunch. He and his supporters don't want to see anything wrong with Greece. They blame all our troubles on the "liberals" despite the fact that no such animal has held power here since forever. This seems especially true now that he is on the outs in Albany.

His assistant Kirk whom I found pretentious is now running for office.

I laughed at your comment about "liberals" 12:10. Joe and John are BOTH LIBERALS! Both switched parties to run for a vacant seat. They didn't switch philosophies, just parties! And it really, really shows! They aren't alone either. So many local politicians have done this .....

John Auberger is the Wizard of Oz. Safely from behind his curtain of deception and control, he pulls the levers of corruption and crime, and only when he is exposed, claims he had nothing to do with it. At least the real Wizard realized, once exposed, the gig was up.

Maybe he should have shoved Firkins out front and yelled "She said she is me, so it's all her fault!"

Control, control, control. CYA plain and simple. It's actually quite insulting that he thinks that the voters of Greece are so dumb they would buy it. Says alot about what he thinks about us.

Actually, I don't think he thinks about "us" much at all. It's always about what is best for Jack and Maggie.

Without the mastermind of Minarik, you will see more of this type of insulting CYA. Obviously we need to let Mr. Reilich know - "You're no Steve Minarik!"

Jim Smith was smart - but he's now in hiding from the FBI investigations and ROB-U-TRAD(BLIND). What's a crony to do?

Just because Auberger and Robach were once democrats does not make them liberals. NOT all democrats are liberals.

Auberger plays up to the local God squad and seems to think Greece is a theocracy. What is liberal about that.

Neither Robach nor Auberger have any political philosphies, they will go with whatever gets them elected.

If anyone thinks that Auberger wrote that piece in this morning's paper is really living in the land of make believe. Jeff McCann does all his writing and thinking for him and Firkins fends off the public so that Auberger does not have to make any public statments. Doesn't anyone wonder why no one can speak to him face to face. He's incapapble of phrasing an intelligent response and, therefore, that is why he hides behind his two followers and is joined at the hip with them.

Re "NOT all democrats are liberals."

True BUT most any of the democrats are more liberal than any of the Republicans.

Re "Auberger plays up to the local God squad and seems to think Greece is a theocracy. What is liberal about that."

Isn't it funny that is the ONE and ONLY thing he is really willing to take any stand on? I think he does it for protection. What senior citizen in Greece will vote against a guy who shakes their hand, gives them free concerts with transportation under the tent and panders religion? He caters to the 65 and up crowd. They lap it up like cold milk on a hot day.

2:14 - you're exactly right!

During a recent conversation with two Greece Police officers, I was informed that while the PD has taken some hits, morale remains high.

In the first place to a man and a woman, they are glad that both Joseph and Pignato are gone. Their biggest fear is that Merritt Rahn will again somehow survive and return as Chief. Then you will see morale sink to the bottom.

Both faulted Auberger's hiring practices of hiring 40 year old burnouts from other departments. They described them as mercenaries who come to Greece to finish their careers and pad their retirement pensions. They are described as Auberger's dead weight "zombies."

Joe Robach certainly doesn't support abortion rights. Again I don;t think he would have ever been considered a liberal.

I don't imagine Auberger is liberal on social issues.

Has Loszynski left his office yet? Has he stepped inside police HQ after all these weeks? How are we funding this $1200/day affair? Where's the media updates on the status of his work?

To 5:16PM ~~ If I told you that, I'd have to kill you :)

If you are a critic in Greece you are an enemy. I bet they even have an enemies list. Nixon lives

5:16 should ask Joe since he's so "open" (haha)

No, Joe, things don't get swept under the rug, they hide in the closet.

I think Joe Robach gives closets a black eye.

Let's see? can someone find out how much over time Supervisor A has approved for McCahn and Firkins since all of these issues have come out.
We the people have allowed created the monster by our votes or from those who don't.
