He Said ... He Said ...

Loszynski ~~ Extra Help May Be Needed Through Summer

Jeff McCann ~~ It's For A Short Time, Maybe A Few Weeks

"We have every expectation we will have money from this year's operating budget to cover these expenses basically through vacancies not filled through the course of the year." ~~ Jeff McCann

There are eight vacancies currently

STORY

SCATS ~~ Mr. McCann, I think your nose just grew again! Perhaps it's time to shutdown the GPD and use the Sheriff's services. It's possible we now have MORE investigators on the town's payroll than we have clean cops!

An interesting aside ~~ Ever since Nick Joseph's accident, I keep reading comments left on media websites similar to this one left on the D&C story about Rahn's gun:

"This investigation will also uncover the fact that officer Joseph was transported from the scene of his accident by the fire chief after a call from Joseph's father."

SCATS........Which Fire Chief are they referring to? Phillips? Each fire department has its own head honcho.

To 8:28PM ~~ I've seen no mention by name. However, a friend of mine said they heard Phillips name mentioned by someone in a PD outside of Greece. Isn't there ONE person who oversees all of the Greece FD's?

Phillips is the head of Greece Ridge. There are four seperate departments in Greece. Phillips and Rahn are very close pals, that's not rumor, it's fact!

So Loszynski and McCann disagree on how long the extra personnel will be needed. I'm wondering who is in charge here. It seems to me the only person who could tell us how long we have to pay these ridiculous salaries is Loszynski. Shouldn't he be showing us there's reason to do more and hire extra hands before we make that committment? As usual, no accountability here.

I'd still like to know more about these unfilled positions

John A always keeps positions open so that if a friend or family member needs a job they can easily slide someone in; or if John gives someone a promotion for a lawn sign job well done he has the money in the salary budget.
For example the town has a 3 or 4 person finance department with a director and assistant director of finance. "What is this all about"
Maybe we have focused on John A without giving just due to the town's board members.
When was the last time an item was voted on by the board that did not have a 4 to 0 vote.
What John says they do! We vote for these people also.
The new town board candidates will do the same. The young guy worked for the town for maybe 1 year and is now the coordinator for the County's Office for the Aging. How does this happen.
So when he votes on the contract between the town and the office for the aging which way will his vote go. Another example of double dipping.

Assuming what 1:02 says is true. Why aren't such sloppy presonnel preactices exposed by the democrats. It would be a simple mater to FOIL the information. And it would put the lie to claim that Greece some efficient well run machine.
I'm beginning to wonder if the local democrats don;t have thier own Pelosi problem (though I personally like Pelosi) which is making them afaid to attck Auberger on this obvious trough feeding.

or you could kwitcherbichen and FOIL it yerself if you have all the answers.

Oh that takes an effort. Nevermind.

1:59 don't be testy. You don't know me. I might FOIL information from the town or I might be a lazy *&%$#.

Still, I want our local opposition political party to to be the watchdog it is supposed to be. I don't think that's too much to ask.
it is good preparation for power to get to know the workings of the town.

"for power to get to know the workings of the town." ????

Are you on a committee? I doubt it because you seem to forget that these people on both sides and any and all committees are your neighbors - not some "power" hungry group.

People who care and want to make a difference do - on these committees and in many other ways throughout their community.

So what have you done today to make a difference?

To 2:34PM ~~ I keep my property maintained ... mowed today! I pay my taxes in full and on time. I vote in elections. I can't speak for 2:22PM but on my own behalf I can say that I shouldn't even have to think about the need for a "watchdog group" let alone serve on a committee. Where did this PTA mindset come from that suggests a citizen has no right to voice an opinion, complain or express any unhappy thoughts about govt UNLESS they're working to fix what the paid politicians and other public servants have messed up? I guess I missed that part of the Constitution ...

@Assuming what 1:02 says is true. Why aren't such sloppy presonnel preactices exposed by the democrats.

Because they do the exact same thing. Look at their candidates. A bunch are teachers paid with school taxdollars, doubledipping, unless they announce that they'll quit their jobs. The rest are union members. How do you think they'll vote on union contracts? In the interest of town residents or for lucrative raises and benefit packages?

Double dipping = Getting paid twice for the same thing.
Get your facts in order.

to anonymous 5/25
I guess the double dipping comes in because both jobs are funded by tax payer money.
So maybe dubble dipping are the correct words to use.
How about conflict of interest?
Annoymous 5/22 don't assume that the statements are true they are otherwisw they word not have been submitted. If you know differently let us know?
I am not going to assume why the dem's reveal this behavior
