Dobson Resigning County Legislature Job

From Greece Post:
County Legislator Doug Dobson announced Thursday he will be resigning his position effective June 30. Dobson, a Republican, has served on the Legislature since 1998 and cannot seek re-election due to term limits.
In his letter to County Legislature President Wayne Zyra, Dobson said increasing work demands as a vice president of Optimation Technology Inc. and the chief operating officer of Optimation Industrial Services led him to retire.
“I would like to thank the voters of the 7th District for having confidence in my ability to represent them as their legislator,” Dobson stated in a prepared release. “I am proud to have been a partner with County Executive Maggie Brooks and a member of the County Legislature’s Republican Majority.”
The 7th Legislative District covers the northern half of Greece, along with a portion of Charlotte in Rochester.
Dobson was first appointed to the legislature in 1998 and was elected the following year. He was re-elected in 2001 and 2005. He is currently vice-chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee and the vice-chairman of the Agenda/Charter Committee.

SCATS ~~ The trend continues!

this tactic may allow the republicans to drop in a candidate who if even for a short time reaps the benefits of being the incumbent -- perhaps one without the taint of scandal.

At least the republicans are getting slightly more creative. Dobson didn't say he wanted to spend more time with his family.
