GCSD Annual Report Available Now

The GCSD expects to mail an Annual Report to all Greece households in July. Included in the report is information on how students are performing on the state assessments, how Greece's results compare to other school districts, goals for the upcoming school year and changes that families will see as students return to classes in September.

GCSD Annual Report

Dear Boardmembers:

Previously, we've noted several times that the GCSD website has not been updated in a timely fashion (in recent months) to reflect planned meetings of the BOE, district happenings, etc. Just last week, a Special Meeting was called but never posted on the district website. A tiny D&C article stated that the meeting purpose was for another executive session to discuss an employee's employment history & litigation, something you've been doing rather routinely.

Today, however, the district website shows that you did in fact conduct business after your executive session concluded. Interestingly, no agenda was ever posted on your website, nor was any agenda voted upon (adopted) by the BOE or later amended at that meeting to include the items you "resolved" (voted upon)! Proposed Minutes

Also today, we note that an apparent schedule has been set to allow the community to meet the "finalists" you will select for the Supt. position!! For some inexplicable reason, we can not locate any mention of that schedule on the GCSD website. Perhaps because you didn't complete your agenda at the regular monthly BOE meeting in July, the community hasn't been apprised of where the search for a Supt. has led. Since we are paying for the search & will be paying for the contract, do you believe we have no right to be informed of the details as time goes by?? You've been nearly silent on this issue since the search consultants were hired.

It is YOUR JOB to keep the community informed of the business you PLAN TO CONDUCT BEFORE IT BECOMES A "DONE DEAL." It is YOUR JOB to be sure that meetings are posted/announced. It is YOUR JOB to conduct business in accordance with Robert's Rules of Order. It is YOUR JOB despite summer vacations, inhospitable weather and a lack of staffing in district office. You have a clerk, we suggest that you make better use of her for the good of the community.

Yet Another Exec Session Planned Tuesday

According to the D & C on Sunday, the Greece BOE plans another executive session for Tuesday July 25 beginning at 6:30 PM to discuss personnel issues and the employment history of one or more employee/s.

Why aren't they updating the GCSD website to reflect this?

Dr. Robert Conrad: Our Next Supt???

Are you kidding? The search is all a sham. They already know who they want.Watch out, it will be someone already familiar with Greece. I dare not suggest any initials yet, but you shall see soon. 7/21/2006 9:03 AM

Old news...initials are BC or RC depending on if you call him by his proper name or not. Familiarity with Greece is not a bad thing. We need to heal the rifts that have been created. If the rumor mill is true, then BC is just what the doctor ordered for us...... 7/21/2006 9:15 AM

So it is a sham then and to what cost to the taxpayer? 7/21/2006 9:56 AM

Didn't say it was a sham. If that individual has expressed interest and is going through the paces like everyone else, how can you consider it a sham? You have to realize that there are good people out there that would do great things for Greece -- if someone happens to know that and encourages that person to apply -- that isn't a sham -- that's good business. ESPECIALLY since it would seem the BOE isn't just appointing someone -- they are holding true to their word about process. 7/21/2006 10:33 AM
